NYC 2014 BOOT CAMP Greetings Models, Actors, & Parents! Spend an exciting three days in a New York City photo studio working with top modeling and acting industry experts in an intimate setting. Learn how to audition for commercials and walk with the poise and grace of a supermodel. Meet agents from top NYC commercial print and fashion agencies and get great photos that will help launch your modeling or acting career. These three days will transform you from the inside out focusing on your “inner beauty” and giving you personal styling, makeup and self-presentation advice to capitalize on your unique qualities. This is the camp is for models and actors or those who wish radiate confidence, presence and personality in the world. Projecting a powerful image to the world is the foundation of this camp. This camp is limited to 20 people, so everyone will get personal attention. Model Moves 3 Day Boot Camp Includes: • All the activities listed below • Lunch • Model Moves DVD Overview: There are many categories in modeling, and we’ll go over them at camp. Fashion model, fit model, plus size, commercial print and actor…where do you belong? Learn about the opportunities available in the modeling and acting world. You will also be meeting experts in the business over a few day period, so possibly another area of the business could pique your interest. There is basically a uniform for models and actors. We’ll go over the appropriate dress and discuss what you need to wear when meeting agents and going on castings. We will be sending a “What to Bring/Where to Go” email several weeks before camp. Model Style: Health and Fitness: We all need to be aware of our bodies, what we put in them and how we take care of them so we stay in great shape. Some areas of the modeling and acting world have high expectations for keeping in shape. Model Moves ™: These are techniques Shawn has developed over the many years that she’s work both in front of and behind the camera. She breaks it down to make it easy to learn and works with a seasoned fashion/commercial model so you can follow along. Everyone is up and taking part in movement in front of the camera-this is where you learn how to begin building a repertoire. As a bonus you get to take a Model Moves DVD home. Grooming: We’ll talk about haircuts, hair color, eyebrows, manicured nails, waxing, being impeccably groomed overall. Maintenance is an important part of the equation for models, actors. Every part of you must be flawless and you have to create a look that is industry appropriate. Casting Call: Commercial casting director, will give you tips and tech- niques for standing out on a commercial casting-how to dress, slate, perform and read copy. You’ll get to go show your personality to one of the top casting directors in NYC. Makeup application: Enhance your features with a simple, clean make- up that is flawless. Learn from talented makeup artist Flynn Marie who has done international editorial, catalogue, advertising and fashion show work. She’ll help you apply your makeup, giving you personal direction. (*Makeup kit is not included in the price of camp.). Walk this Way: Great posture and an elegant walk with a shining presence is what we’re looking for. Your walk and the way you stand says a lot about who you are. Whether you are walking down the runway of a fashion show or into a boardroom, you need to able to stand out. Photo Shoot including professional hair and makeup: We will shoot two different looks and this will be the time you can put your Model Moves into practice. You will be guided as to what to you need to do with your expression, hands, arms, legs and feet. Shawn has mentored hundreds of new models and actors over the years to get them started in the business. Improv Games are exercises to help open you up and give you the confi- dence you need perform in front of people. These games will help shed any shyness you may have and will certainly be fun and make you laugh. It’s one of the most important foundations for models and actors. Keith Rubin is an actor, improviser, and musician who holds degrees in Theater and Psychology from Yale University, where he performed with and directed the Exit Players. He has studied improvisation with The Groundlings in LA, the Improv Olympic in Chicago, and at UCB in New York City. Keith teaches improvisation workshops all across the country, and continues to perform regularly in New York. Premier quality makeup by international makeup artist Dani Davis. Dani’s fabulous makeup creates professional results with the right combination of eye shadow, blush and lip stick/gloss. This is the makeup for a flawless photo finish.
