Thank you for joining us for the 2016 Dakotafest show! For more than 20 years
Dakotafest has delivered a one-stop venue for all your farming and ranching
needs and this year has proven to be no different. The 2016 show is packed
full of top agribusinesses, education, politics, and activities for the entire family.
One of the many features of this year’s show is the ALL NEW Reaves Innovation &
Technology Center. The campus, located in the Northwest corner of the grounds,
features three buildings: the Reaves Building Systems Display, Technology and
Innovation Exhibits, and Dakotafest Education Center. The Technology and
Innovation Exhibits features 16 forward-thinking companies providing everything
from insurance services to drone systems. The Dakotafest Education Center,
sponsored by American Family Insurance, will host a number of education
sessions and political discussions. Be sure to stop by the new campus to visit
with exhibitors and learn more about South Dakota agriculture.
While you’re here, be sure to also stop by the SDSU Pavilion for more education,
exhibits, and FREE ice cream! In addition, the Northwest Vet Livestock tent will
once again present their “Dinner with Doc” series and livestock chute demos daily
at 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Need to get around the grounds? Hop on the Dakotafest Shuttle, sponsored by
RIO Nutrition. The shuttle will make multiple stops around the perimeter of the
show throughout the day. Just look for the DAKOTAFEST SHUTTLE STOP signs.
And finally, if you haven’t downloaded the mobile app, be sure to do that right
away! It’s the best way to get up-to-the-minute announcements and updates.

Directions
Dakotafest is located at the Schlaffman Family Farm,
off Interstate 90 in Mitchell, South Dakota.
From North Highway 37
Take a right on Hwy. 37 bypass/truck route.
Go approximately 2 blocks and turn left onto
Sanborn Street. Go south on Sanborn Street
approximately 2 miles until you reach the lights
at Havens Street. Turn left and proceed east on
Havens until you get to the South Burr Street
intersection. Turn right and proceed south
past K-Mart and just past I-90. From here
you will be directed to the Dakotafest site.
From West on I-90
Take exit 332 from West I-90. Turn right and proceed
approximately 1 block. Turn left at lights and follow signs
to the Dakotafest site.
From East on I-90
Take exit 332 from East I-90. Turn left on South Hwy. 37
and proceed approximately 2 blocks. Turn left at the lights
and follow signs to the Dakotafest site.
From South Highway 37
Take a right at the lights just before the I-90 interchange
and follow signs to Dakotafest site.

Where to Go
Looking for a specific service or information? Look no further! The Dakotafest show site has everything you need to get
the most out of the show. Here’s a short list of what’s available on site:
Show Staff
Handicapped Parking
Our staff is here to help you. If you have any questions or
need assistance please feel free to ask anyone wearing a
bright T-shirt or IDEAg branded polo. We’re happy to help!
Handicapped parking is available in the first row of the
east and west attendee parking lots.
Show Office
The main office of the show, and heart of the operation,
is centrally located on the corner of Main & 4th Street.
Just look for the giant American flag flying proudly over
the grounds.
First Aid
The first aid station is located on the south end of
the grounds, near the service entrance. In case of an
emergency, please alert a member of our staff immediately.
Restrooms
Air-conditioned restroom trailers are located near the
ag tents and a number of portable toilets, sponsored
by Agnition, are located throughout the grounds.
Lost Children
Please check in at the show office for lost children.
In the event of a lost child, the staff at the Show Office
can make an announcement over the PA system to help
locate your child.
Lost and Found
Lost items will be brought to the Show Office.
Information Booth
The information booths, sponsored by Sukup, can be found
near the east and west entrances. The staff at the information
booths can answer any questions not covered in our Show
Program or they can point you in the right direction.

Parking
The Dakotafest parking lots, sponsored by Rob-See-Co,
are located on the east and west sides of the show
grounds. All attendee parking is free of charge.

Getting Around
There are plenty of ways to get around the 50 acres
of Dakotafest. Take advantage of the many convenient
transportation options provided.
Shuttles
On-Site Shuttle: A complimentary on-site shuttle will
be circling the show grounds throughout the three days.
Look for the DAKOTAFEST SHUTTLE STOP signs and
hop on for a ride around the perimeter of the show.

Parking Lot Shuttle: A shuttle will run through the
parking lots during the show days to help you get from
your car to the entrances and back again. Shuttles
will make multiple stops throughout the parking lots.

Shuttle Safety: As they say at the amusement park,
“Keep your hands and feet inside the ride.” For your
safety please keep your arms and legs inside the on-site
and parking lot shuttles. Please secure your belongings
and hold on to young children to avoid injury.
Golf Carts
Golf Cart Rental: Golf carts, provided by NB Golf Car, are
available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The cart rental
is located at the East Entrance Gate.
Golf Cart Safety: Please operate your golf cart
responsibly. The grounds of Dakotafest are busy with
both foot traffic and other vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings at all times.
n
Keep your speed to a minimum.
n
Golf carts may not carry more passengers than
available seating.
n
Please do not enter an exhibit with your golf cart.
n
Remove your key when you exit.
Anyone found not following these rules will be asked
to return their golf cart for the day.

Wetland Mitigation Summit
South Dakota Farm Bureau is offering an opportunity
to learn the latest about the Wetland Mitigation Bank
in South Dakota. Wetland mitigation banking provides
a way for farmers to work efficiently and protect the
environment. South Dakota Farm Bureau, working in
conjunction with Dakota Wetland Partners, is leading
the way for farmers to buy credits and be able to move a
wetland from a cropped field or sell credits by restoring or
creating a new wetland. The forum will include USDA staff,
farmers, and Dakota Wetland Partner experts discussing
how farmers can become involved and benefit from
wetland mitigation banking.
