Designed as a building block for linearly scaling I/O performance of an existing storage environment, FlashCubes are available with Fibre Channel interfaces (SAN version) or 10 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces (iSCSI/NAS version). Traditional storage systems need to be severely overprovisioned to meet these performance requirements. And SSD solutions (such as PCI-e SSD) or Flash Memory Arrays (derived from direct-attach PCI-e systems) are 1/10th the demands of concurrent bandwidth for even a single node, multi-core database server.
