Please follow these instructions carefully to determine the correct size for different product styles.
Measurements should always be taken in the following order, and as soon as possible after waking when swelling is at its lowest.

Measure the ankle circumference at the narrowest
part of the ankle, above the ankle bone. This
measurement is labeled (b). Use the
appropriate series sizing chart to determine if
ankle is SMALL, MEDIUM, LARGE or X-LARGE.
Note: This should be your first
measurement.
Measure the calf circumference at the fullest part
of the calf. This measurement is labeled (c).
Determine the calf length (A-D) by measuring
from the floor up to the bend of the knee. This
measurement is taken on the outside of the calf.

The SIGVARIS
designed with patients in mind

The UlceRx Kit provides the necessary compression needed
to heal a venous ulcer. This dual-stocking system consists of
a 10-15 mmHg underliner and a 30-40 mmHg overstocking.
At night, wearing the underliner reduces pain and
discomfort, helping the patient rest comfortably. It also helps
keep the dressing in place. Its smooth exterior also aids in
the donning of the overstocking, as well as other SIGVARIS
compression stockings.
Clinically proven to heal venous leg ulcers
• More effective than bandage wrapping for <4cm ulcers*
»» Larger ulcers (>4cm) healed as rapidly with the
UlceRx Kit as with bandages
• Reduces pain and swelling at night

Donning INSTRUCTIONS
Stocking Application:

1) T he best time to put on the stockings is at the start of
the patient’s day. Their legs should be dry. The use of
SIGVARIS donning gloves is recommended to make the
process easier.
2) F or the open-toe styles only, you may use the foot-slip
included with your purchase and place it as shown in
Picture 1. Never gather the stocking prior to donning.
Leave the stocking fully extended. Pull the stocking up
over the foot past the ankle.

Using the donning gloves, ease the stocking over
the foot, then over the heel and finally up the calf (or
thigh). Getting the heel in place will make the donning
process easier.

(b) Do not pull at the top of the stocking; instead,
“massage” and pull it gently up the leg. Continue
this process until the stocking is in place. With the
panty style, the same massaging technique should be
continued over the thigh.
4) R
emove foot slip by pulling its top out of the open toe
of the stocking (when applicable).
5) F or open-toe styles, the foot part of the stocking should
be placed at the base of the toes. The toes should
remain free. For calf length style, the top band should
be approximately one inch below bend of knee.

Always remove stockings before going to bed.

se SIGVARIS donning gloves to make stocking removal
easier. Take hold of the stockings or socks at the top
band and peel downwards past the ankle. Never push
downward as this creates bunching and makes the
stocking more difficult to remove.

ith the flat of the hand, work the stocking over the heel
and remove.
Important:
Sharp fingernails, rings and bracelets may cause
damage when putting on and removing the stockings.
Do not cut or pull loose ends, which sometimes appear on
the inside of the stockings.

Caring for SIGVARIS Medical Therapy products
• Patients may machine wash on gentle cycle using lukewarm water and a mild detergent
(we suggest using SIGVARIS washing solution for best results).
• For the Natural Rubber Series, hand washing is recommended.
• To protect the garment during washing, we recommend using a lingerie bag.
• Rinse well and air-dry.
• Do not use bleach or fabric softeners and avoid tumble drying.
Stockings with Silicone beads or Sensinnov band:
For optimum performance of the silicone beads or Sensinnov band, patients may want to wipe the silicone
regularly with a clean cloth moistened with rubbing alcohol. This removes skin oils and lint from clothing
that could decrease the effectiveness of the silicone.
Stockings with Velcro™ attachment:
Before washing, please match and fasten the two pieces together. This protects the Velcro™ and
ensures optimum long-term performance.

Wearing SIGVARIS Rubber
Gloves, pull the stocking over the
semi-circle between the handles
of the SOS. Be sure the heel
of the stocking faces you at
the rear of the semi-circle.

Insert foot into the stocking until
heel of foot is resting on the
floor. Grasp both handles of the
SOS and gently pull up until SOS
and stocking are slightly above
your calf.

Gently pull the SOS backward
from your leg and free of the
stocking. Be sure the heel of the
stocking aligns with the heel of
your foot, and adjust the length
of the stocking using the palms
of your gloved hands. Smooth
out any wrinkles and remove
the footslip.

Life For Legs DVD
SIGVARIS offers an instructional video that teaches consumers about venous disease and ways that
compression therapy helps people who are suffering from vein health issues.
Scenes include a pregnant woman who suffers from swollen ankles, a business traveler who is
concerned about the long time she spends in flight, and a repairman who stands for long periods of
time at work. It’s a wonderful tool for teaching consumers and patients how a simple change of socks
can improve their health.

SIGVARIS offers this video free of charge to all medical professionals and retailers, with the goal of
building awareness of compression therapy as a therapeutic treatment for venous disease, and is
