• Formed in 1928 as Ontario Research Foundation (ORF)
• Between Canadian Manufacturer’s Association and Govt. of Ontario
• Technology development to assist Ontario-based industries
• PRO formed in 1999, after privatization of ORTECH (ORF)

• Ortech was privatized as it was losing money.
• PRO took over the Process Technologies division
of Ortech.
• PRO turned around the money losing operation in
to a profitable business.
