BIG TOP ORIGINAL PRODUCTIONS
Join us for our own unique brand of shows that feature songs and stories performed by Big Top’s
Blue Canvas Orchestra and Singers that bear the hallmark of exquisite musicianship illustrated by
big-screen visuals.
This year we debut a new musical show that traces the transformation of Celtic music brought to
America from the North of Ireland as it becomes the roots of American Bluegrass in “Belfast to
Bluegrass.” Other historical musicals this year include Warren Nelson’s “Take Me To The Islands,”
an illustrated history of the Apostle Islands, “Shanties & Shipwrecks,” our celebration of sailing
and sailors, and “Riding the Wind,” the illustrated history of Bayfield. We also reprise last year’s
hugely successful “Big Top Opry” which celebrates classic Country and Western songs by the likes
of Hank Williams and Patsy Cline. Then there are our variety nights: “BCO in Concert,” ”New First
Night,” ”BCO’s Salute to Bruce Burnside” and “Old Last Night.” This is when the band gets to cut
loose and play their favorite songs from their 30 summers on the Big Top stage.
You haven’t fully experienced the Big Top until you’ve seen the Original Shows and

One of our favorite performers at the Big Top is singer/
songwriter Brandi Carlile. Mixing musical genres from
folk to rock to alternative country infused with gospel,
Carlile is perhaps best known for her 2007 hit song
“The Story.” Lauded for her big, belting voice and her
well-crafted songs, Carlile is currently touring in support
of her just-released album The Firewatcher’s Daughter.
“My goal,” she says, “is to connect on a soul level with
our longtime fans and friends, and to reach new people

daughter, Evangeline, to grow up and think I’m cool.”
Corey is our hometown boy, but he’s known and

Brule’ returns to the Big Top bringing their
blend of contemporary Native American
sounds in a powerful performance that
carries the same contagious excitement as
Trans Siberian Orchestra and Celtic Thunder,
but with the emotional impact of the
American Indian culture. Described as an
experience in sight, sound and soul, the show
features selected titles from their
discography of twelve CDs along with
Paul’s personal message of peace, hope and reconciliation between cultures. Each song is
accompanied by beautiful choreography and breathtaking Native American dancers wearing
traditional regalia. Brulé has sold over a million CDs worldwide and won multiple Native
American Music Awards.
