The Nebraska Sluggers baseball program is dedicated to the development of young baseball players in Nebraska. The Sluggers provide opportunity and training for college bound baseball players, while emphasizing fundamental skills, advanced techniques, good sportsmanship, and fun. The Sluggers will maximize exposure, play the best level of competition in the country, and prepare the player for the next level. What is the Philosophy of the Program? The Sluggers are for the college bound athletes and their parents. Families committed to participate in college baseball must understand the time commitment involved in the game to develop the skills individually and collectively. The Sluggers will provide the opportunity to develop the necessary skills through experienced coaching, practice opportunities, and games against the top teams in the country. Although exposure is important to everyone, our primary focus will always be the development of the team. If we have a great team, everyone will enhance their opportunity to play college baseball. Program Goals 1. To enhance each players experience through reinforcement and mastery of basic fundamentals and the development of team concepts in a highly competitive environment. 2. To help athletes develop a sense of teamwork, pride, effort, self-discipline, and self-motivation. 3. To provide expert coaches who genuinely care about the athletes and the team, and not just winning. 4. To assist the college bound athlete in gaining visibility for college recruiters. 5. To learn to represent themselves, their parents, and the organization in a class manner. Sluggers NEBRASKA TM 1 Sluggers NEBRASKA TM Scheduling Part of the Nebraska Sluggers program is our scheduling. We are a member of Premier Baseball, which includes teams from all over the country. Teams are based out of Kansas City, Dallas, Houston, St. Louis, New York and New Mexico just to name a few. We are able to schedule games against many top programs in the nation. Our summer schedule will include 8 to 9 weekends of games. The typical weekend will include a five game schedule. Over the course of our summer schedule we will play anywhere between 40 and 50 games. We travel to many of the premier Collegiate Baseball facilities in the Midwest. We attend tournaments on the campuses of University of Nebraska Lincoln, Wichita State University, University of Arkansas, University of Missouri, Texas Christian University (TCU) and Oklahoma State. These are a few of the sites we have played at over the past few summer seasons. This allows our players to be scouted by many schools throughout the Midwest. In order to improve as a baseball player you have to be challenged by your competition. The competition we face throughout the summer is unmatched by others in the Midwest. The quality of our scheduling will allow you to develop into the best possible baseball player you can be. 2 Sluggers NEBRASKA TM Sluggers 2015 NEBRASKA TM What Players and Parents are Saying “Some of the lessons I learned helped me develop into the player that I am today and motivated me to work harder in order to achieve the success I wanted. There are a lot of great players like I’ve said, and I certainly believe that when I was playing the game of baseball around Nebraska I wasn’t seeing those premier players. Playing with the Sluggers showed me what it’s like to play great players and motivated me to work harder.” – Casey Gillaspie Would you recommend other parents of high school players look into playing for the Nebraska Sluggers? “I wholeheartedly recommend it. But, it has to be what your son wants… Your son will play at least 5 games over the course of a weekend. He’ll be at a game with 20 college coaches in attendance.” – Mark Gillaspie For more information: www.NebraskaSluggers.com 402-935-1916 Sluggers NEBRASKA TM 3 Sluggers NEBRASKA 501 Olsen Drive / Papillion, NE 68046 402-597-0908 / www.nebraskasluggers.com TM (UGE 3ELECTION s /VER ITEMS TO CHOOSE FROM Additional info here Sluggers NEBRASKA TM
