Project Description
The Sikafloor Pronto decking system was used for the first time
in Ireland on this new residential development in Ballyshannon. Murphy
Surface Coatings applied 1´000 sqm during the month of November in
temperatures just above freezing.
Application in winter under low temperature.
Q-Park is an international parking company with good to strong market
positions in many European countries. Q-Park is committed to provide
customers with good looking, safe and well lit parking facilities. They
are designed for easy parking with well defined and spacoius parking
bays. Sika systems were used in 2 carparks of Q-Park: Tallaght Cross
Q-Park(Belgard Square East, Tallaght, Dublin) and Q-Park Clerys Car
Park ( Marlborough Street, Dublin).

Requirements
Because of its extremely fast curing properties even in low temperature
situations Sikafloor® Pronto® was choosen for car parks, entry
ramps, supermarkets and all situations where the elements are a factor. It has good mechanical properties with good resistance and excellent weathering properties and remains slightly flexible when cured.
The undeground car park at the development also used Sika flooring systems for the decking. It was coated with 2´000 sqm of
Sikafloor®-261, a durable solvent free epoxy resin intermediate
decking system, that has a long and successful track record in car
parks throughout Ireland.
Q-Park Clerys Car Park was an extensive refurbishment project for
Q-Park. Deteriorated concrete structure throughout the building including the decks needed to be repaired. Floors and walls were to be repainted to provide a protective, decorative and durable surface.
The Tallaght Cross Q-Park was a new construction.

Q-Park Clerys Car Park: deteriorated concrete was repaired using
Sika® concrete repair mortars and decks were made good with Sika®
levelling Mortar. 12’000 sqaure meters if intermediate decks were finished with Sikafloor® 358, a tough, elastic, coloured epoxy deck
was levelled and finished with Sikafloor® 350 flexible decking system. All floor and wall coating systems were applied by Epowit flooring
contractors to provide a decorative, protective finish that will ensure
the future integrity and extend the life of the structure.
Tallaght Cross Q-Park: it was completed in two phases (three levels
each phase) with 80´000 sqaue meters of Sikafloor®-263 interme
diate deck coating being applied by the McLoughlin Group. They also
applied 100´000 square meters of Sikagard® Elastocolor W to
the walls, columns and soffits.

Project Description
The recently opened Radisson SAS Royal Hotel is situated in the centre
of Dublin. The user friendly, secure basement car park for up to 60 cars
is often the first location for a visitor who comes to the hotel.
Sika car park protective coating systems were choosen for the basement car park at the recently opened Euro 150 million Charlestown
Shopping Center. Situated close to the junction between N2 and M50,
the center is one of the Ireland’s premier shopping destination.

To produce a light and safe parking area Sika® coating systems were
choosen with high strandard to compliment the hotel itself.
4´000 sqm of Sikafloor®-261 intermediate decking systems was
laid by Larsen Contracts Ireland. The walls and columns were coated
with 3´000 sqm of Sikafloor® Esastocolor W, a flexible, anticorbonation protective concrete coating.

McLoughlin Group laid 15´000 sqm of Sikafloor®-263 to give a durable aestetic looking car park deck. It was important that the car park
was bright and user friendly and that the layout reflected the modern
design of the retail development.
24´000 sqm of Sikagard® Elastocolor W, which is available
in a range of colours, was applied to the walls and columns of the car
park
Whitewater Shopping Cenre,
Newbridge
Project Description
Whitewater Shopping Center in Newbridgeis one of Dublin. Sika coating
systems were used to seal and protect the exposed upper decks of the
car park.

McLoughlin Group flooring contractor laid 3´000 sqm of Sikafloor®350 car park top deck system. This elastomeric flooring system is not
only extremly durable but capable of producing aesthetically stunning
results.
The Sikafloor®-350 system is designed specially for the tough
environment of exposed car park decks and will give an excellent resistance to UV and attack from the elements.
Castle Square, Carrigtohill
Bridgewater Centre

Castle Square is a new commercial amenity at the heart of the Castle
Lake development in Carrigtohill, a growing housing development on
the outskirts of Cork City, presently being built by Ascon for property
developer Gable Holdings.
The Bridgewater Shopping Centre which is situated on a spectacular
eleven acre site at North Quay in Arklow has parking space for one
thousands cars.

Sika Solution
Murphy Surface Coatings applied 3´000 sqm Sikafloor®-350 top
deck coating system. This durable elastomeric membrane system is
crack bridging and flexible and will ensure that all units below remain
dry.

This exposed car park area was protected and waterproofed with
Sikafloor®-350 elastomeric membrane decking system. Flooring
contractor McLoughlin Group applied 5´000 square metres of the specialist top deck system.
Sikafloor®-350 is a solvent free polyurethane decking system that
produces a crack bridging, wearing surface for car park decks.
Sikafloor®-350 elastomeric polyurethane decking system was the
ideal solution for this project to give a tough flexible surface, with excellent colour stability and long term resisitance to weathering.
