SEMA Builders Wanted
Snugtop is looking to connect
with builders who are preparing
trucks for display at this year’s
SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
They can be trucks that will be
showcased in manufacturer’s
booths inside the Convention
Center, or in the Featured Vehicle
areas outside. Snugtop will
provide builders with a cap or
tonneau cover to best suit the
project, providing certain criteria
are met. Builders should contact

New Truck Sales Sizzling
Sales data from key sources
confirms that light truck sales
are sizzling hot in 2015.
According to the Detroit Free
Press, May 2015 sales of the
Chevrolet Silverado were up 11%,
GMC Sierra sales rose 4% and the
Ram pickup increased by 8%.
While the Ford F-series still
tops the list of the nation’s
best-selling trucks at 302,009
units year-to-date according to
www.pickuptrucks.com, the
YTD numbers are actually below
last year’s levels because of
supply issues.
Toyota Tacoma sales are
up 15% year-to-date and
Tundras have shown a 4% gain.
Chevrolet’s new Colorado posted
35,000 sales in May.
When To
Make a Sale?
Snugtop’s sales data, including warranty registrations,
underscores that the vast majority of caps and lids are sold for
new vehicles. So at what point do you try and make the sale?
Do you wait for new truck buyers to visit your facility, or are you
proactive and work with dealerships to include a cap or lid with
the truck purchase and finance it accordingly? Food for thought.

In the month of May Snugtop received nearly 2,700 phone calls that
were routed to dealers. That’s quite an impressive metric. And most assuredly,
a large number of these calls were converted into sales by Snugtop dealers.

Ford’s popular new F-150 can
now be enhanced with a Snugtop
Super Sport or Rebel topper. The
2015 model year pickups have many
unique features, and their lines are
complimented by the Snugtop caps.
The Super Sport and Rebel will
soon be joined by other popular
shells in the Snugtop line.

The engineering team at
Snugtop has come up with an
innovative seal for the front of
the shell that will deflect water
and prevent it from collecting
at the cap attachment point. A
special skirt has been added to
the original double bulb molding
that effectively seals the cap to the
truck’s bed rails.
This value added feature
is another in the arsenal of
advantages offered by Snugtop
over lesser quality caps, and it
comes at no extra cost to dealers.

Honored
One of the reasons that Snugtop is able to

workforce is comprised of dedicated, experienced
long-term employees. Three were recently honored
for 30 years service to the company; Maria C. Gaeta,
Martin Q. Magdaleno and Ubaldo Herrera.
