13th - 18th May 2016 A salty spectacle of seabird shenanigans Seabirds Experts Learn New Skills Family Fun Marvel at more than 60,000 seabirds who reside at the Cliffs of Moher during the breeding season. The cliffs are a Special Protected Area (SPA) for seabirds and are also home to other bird species such as peregrine falcons, choughs and ravens. There is nowhere else on the mainland of Ireland where you can easily see such a host of nesting seabirds. Friday 13th May Seabird Viewing with BirdWatch Ireland From 10am to 4pm at the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre Events taking place every day at the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre Visitor Centre Opening hours: 9.00am – 7.30pm Sat & Sun 9.00am – 7.00pm Weekdays Seabird Bingo – Pick up a Cliffs of Moher Seabirds ID Card and see how many seabirds you can mark off our Seabird Bingo cards. How many birds on the Stack? Enter our No additional charge applies. View Puffins, Guillemots, Razorbills and many more from the south platform led by an expert from Birdwatch Ireland. Unique Raptors of the Irish Coast Flying Display 4pm at Aillwee Cave & Birds of Prey Centre* Watch in awe as the Bird of Prey Centre’s Peregrine Falcon and White Tailed Sea Eagle fly against the dramatic Burren landscape. All Cliffs of Moher ticket holders receive a 2 for 1 discount on admission for adults and children. See www.aillweecave.ie Guided Seabird Tour 4.15pm at the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre A Cliffs of Moher guide will take you on a fascinating and captivating tour to view many of the wondrous seabirds that nest each year at the Cliffs of Moher. Free event but book in advance as spaces are limited. Email bookings@cliffsofmoher. ie to guarantee your space. contest to provide your best guesstimate of the number of seabirds on the Great Stack. The actual number is being counted by volunteers from Liscannor and Doolin National Schools. The entrant with the closest guess will win a Cliffs of Moher Seabirds Goody Bag. Ireland will inform and enthrall our ferry passengers each evening with a highly educational and spectacular ferry journey under the Cliffs of Moher.
