Our annual series of performances helps members and allies of the LGBT communities connect to diverse audiences everywhere through music. Last year, the Lakeside Pride Marching Band, Lakeside Pride Symphonic Band, and Lakeside Pride Jazz Orchestra reached more than one million people. In 2011, we were inducted into the prestigious Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame. This recognition reflects the legacy of contributions our ensemble members and our supporters have made to the city of Chicago. Anyone can join our ensembles regardless of prior musical experience. Our membership is inclusive of all races, ethnicities, genders, ages, religions, abilities/disabilities, sexual orientations, gender identities, socioeconomic statuses, and geographies. Lakeside Pride is a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All members, conductors, and the Board of Directors are volunteers, sharing their time, talent, and love of music. The operating budget for the group comes from ticket sales, small government grants, and the generosity of individuals. To join an ensemble, purchase tickets, or make a tax deductible donation, visit www.LakesidePride.org. A LE T TE R F ROM THE MAY OR Give the Band a Hand! Our award-winning marching band and color guard entertains nearly one million spectators annually at parades and events. This ensemble embodies the vision of the original Chicago Gay Pride Band, which formed in 1979 as one of the first LGBT bands in the country. Annual events include the Chicago Memorial Day Parade, Chicago Pride Parade, and the Oak Park July 4th Parade among others. If you can play a musical instrument, we can teach you to march and wave at the crowd! LAKESIDE PRIDE JAZZ ORCHESTRA Big band jazz that will knock your socks off! Our jazz orchestra interprets retro-classics from the roaring 20s, swinging 30s, 40s bebop, 50s Sinatra, 60s Bossa Nova, 70s soul, 80s Fusion, 90s rock and 00s pop. The band and its constellation of small ensembles perform regularly throughout Chicago at the Center On Halsted, local bars, Adler Planetarium, and in support of LGBT gala events and receptions. Release your inhibitions and come hang with the hippest cats around! LAKESIDE PRIDE SYMPHONIC BAND Strike Up the Band! The Lakeside Pride Symphonic Band features members and friends of the LGBT community from a variety of musical backgrounds. We welcome anyone who can play a musical instrument. Each year, our Symphonic Band performs a repertoire that includes new and traditional band literature, orchestral transcriptions, show tunes, and other favorites. We frequently feature special guests, including conductor Robert Sheldon, the Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus, and Artemis Singers, and have even performed accompaniment to a screening of the hilarious silent film, “A Belch Can Ruin a Wedding!” TON IG H T’S A RTIS T S | A SCI -F I CEL E BRA TI ON LAKESIDE PRIDE MUSIC ENSEMBLES SY M P H O NIC BA N D FLUTE ELLEN BERNACKI ARIEL CAVAZOS BRENDA JANISH STEPHANIE KIRCHER ROBYN LATCHFORD PETER MACALUSO SHAWN MARSH DWAIN POWELL MATTHEW STEMPSON ZECHARY STIGGER SAXOPHONE FERNANDO AGUDELO ROSS BURWELL JOANNE GRANT DARIUS JAMES DAN MENDELSON MACK PARAYO ANDREW PAUL DAVE SCHROEDER CARSON SCHUETZE THERESE WOS OBOE KAORU MIYAZAKI BASSOON RANDALL FLEER JEFF GEIGER DILLON HALFORD DJ SPAULDING PIANO RANDALL FLEER ANDREW HODSON CLARINET AIDAN ALDANO-BACHTELL EMILY COPPESS DUSTIN DUCKLOW JACKIE FISCHER DON GLENN PETE HENRY JOHN JAFFE RYAN KIN ALANA KNAPP EMMA LANDGRAF BRETT LLOYD CLAIRE MANOR KEVIN MORAN JESSI MOTHS LORRI PLATEK MARIA PULIDO ALEXIS ROURKE NICOLE SCHNEIDER JAMIE SCHOFFSTALL RICK VILLANUEVA PATRICK WALL JOSE LUIS ZAMORA LOW CLARINETS CHERYL DYKSTRA JOE GROSS MATT JOHNSON MICHAEL MALONEY JIM NORRIS PERCUSSION ROB DURKEE JAMI HOCKENSMITH TIM NAUS KATY OKAMOTO JW SETZEKORN JENNIFER VANNELL NICK WHITE TON I G HT ’ S A RTI S TS | A S CI -F I CELEBRA TI ON LAKESIDE PRIDE MUSIC ENSEMBLES SY M P H O NIC BA ND THEREMIN ANDREW HODSON TRUMPET MARGY BRILL ROSS CROCKER TRAVIS CUCKLER CHRISTINA FRUM TIMOTHY HARRISON EILEEN HESS JAMES HUGHES JEFFREY HUTTER ANDREW JOHNSTON MOE MACPHERSON LOGAN MASSEY PETER NASH KYLE RHOADES ALEX RIPLEY CHAD SMITH KLIFF SVATOS MELISSA TERRELL NICK WHITE EUPHONIUM LEE FOWLER MIKE TAYLOR TUBA WILL BIBY DAVID MORCK LILY SIKES ERIC SWINDELL MARK WIENAND FRENCH HORN DAK ALDRICH DANNY CALLAHAN ERIN CAMPBELL JEN DAVIDSON ANDREW HODSON GAYLON KARSTENS ERNESTO LOPEZ SANDRA MAZLAGIC RACHEL REESE AUSTIN TSIAPERAS TROMBONE STEVE BALKO ALAN BEYDOUN TRAVIS CORNEJO KELLEE DIVINE CHRIS DIXON TEVIN GLASPER BETSY GUTSTEIN BRIAN KEBBEKUS ADAM LANG MARK MCARTHUR MATT OLSON JUAN OSORIO JAKE RILEY BEN STANDAGE BRANDON STRAWN BRANDON TAGGART ERIC VELASQUEZ LA KE S IDE P RI DE ME MBE RS Seyi Adeyemi Aidan Aldano-Bachtell Dak Aldrich William Alicea Jonathan Alvares Katie Back Steve Balko Patrick Benson Ellen Bernacki Alan Beydoun Will Biby Bobby Bonslater Margy Brill Ross Burwell Danny Callahan Erin Campbell Chellie Carr Roberto Castro Ariel Cavazos Gilbert Chiang Emily Coppess Ross Crocker Travis Cuckler Tayyib Dauda Jen Davidson Paul DeNovi Kellee Divine Chris Dixon Dustin Ducklow Rob Durkee Cheryl Dykstra Michael Eichner Sam Elliot Joseph Engels Aimee Faller Drew Favreau Jackie Fischer Randall Fleer Lee Fowler Andreas Frey Bradley Fritz Christina Frum Art Fuerte Shelly Fuerte Jeff Geiger Tevin Glasper Don Glenn David Gore JoAnne Grant Joe Gross Betsy Gutstein Dillon Halford Eva Hamer Timothy Harrison Pete Henry Eileen Hess Andrew Hodson James Hughes Chad Hutchens Jeffrey Hutter John Jaffe Darius James Brenda Janish Matt Johnson Andrew Johnston Sue Jones Gaylon Karstens Brian Kebbekus Kat Kidwell Ryan Kin Stefanie Kircher Alana Knapp Emma Landgraf Adam Lang Will Lao Robyn Latchford Brett Lloyd Ernesto Lopez Peter Macaluso Moe MacPherson Scott Malinowski Michael Maloney Claire Manor Chris Mark Shawn Marsh Logan Massey Sandra Mazlagic Mark McArthur Dan Mendelson Megan Merry Kaoru Miyazaki Kevin Moran David Morck Jessi Moths Aileen Murphy Peter Nash Tim Naus Tom Neal Mike Nichols Jim Norris Katy Okamoto Matt Olson Juan Osorio Mack Parayo Andrew Paul Lorri Platek Dwain Powell Maria Pulido Rachel Reese Jessie Reuteler Kyle Rhoades Jake Riley Alex Ripley Alexis Rourke Erik Ryerson Nicole Schneider Jamie Schoffstall David Schroeder Carson Schuetze JW Setzekorn Lily Sikes Chad Smith DJ Spaulding Ben Standage Matthew Stempson James Stevens Zechary Stigger Brandon Strawn Kliff Svatos Eric Swindell Brandon Taggart Mike Taylor Melissa Terrell Gary Thompson Austin Tsiaperas Rhonda Tullis Erica Vanderburg Jennifer Vannell Eric Velasquez Rick Villanueva Patrick Wall Kent Watkins Ty Wells Beth Wesche Eric West Nick White Steven White Mark Wienand Therese Wos Jose Luis Zamora LA KE S I D E P RI DE B OA RD OF DIRECTORS Kyle Rhoades CHAIR BRADLEY FRITZ VICE CHAIR SEYI ADEYEMI SECRETARY LORRAINE PLATEK TREASURER KATY OKAMOTO DEVELOPMENT CHUCK MALM MEMBER RESOURCES BRANDON STRAWN PR/MARKETING AUSTIN TSIAPERAS MEMBERS AT LARGE JONATHAN ALVARES DANNY CALLAHAN TIMOTHY HARRISON STEVEN WHITE The Beat Goes On!
