“Japanese SAMURAI Rock & Roll trio"
The Emeralds took its present form as a three piece band in January 2002. Giving a brief explanation as to what the band is like
would be to say that the band is your original "21st Century International Love&Peace Rock band". The band create their sound
in search of the sound and essence of Rock 'n' Roll's groove and sharpness.
In March 2004, the band was given the opportunity to fly over to the U.S to perform at "Japan nite" of the SXSW2004 festival.
The performance created excitement, and the more the band played, the more audience started to mill into the tent. In the end,
there was a crowd of 300 cheering, and enjoying the Samurai Rock 'n' Roll with loud applauses. After this performance, The
Emerald's album sold over 100 copies at the venue, and there were positive introductions made with people working in the
music industry. The band's songs were aired on college radio stations, and the fan letters started to arrive from the U.S..
March 2005, once again the band was invited to play at "Japan nite" of SXSW2005.The turnout was great, and there were
restrictions at the entrance way since the venue was already packed. The crowd went wild once the band came on stage and
the band answered to the crowd's excitement! The venue sales for the CDs doubled compared to that of the previous year, and
of course, this was another successful experience for The Emeralds. The success of the show was featured in not only
Japanese Magazines, but Austin's local newspapers, and on the website of "Rolling Stones" magazine. After the SXSW2005
performance, the band launched another U.S tour visiting Boston, Canton, L.A, Berkeley, San Francisco, and Seattle. And it goes
without saying that all the performances were great, and added on another page of praise for the Emeralds.

In October 2005, The Emeralds were invited to play at the Boston NEMO Music Festival, and to follow that appearance with
another performance in NYC, joining the final leg of comrade bands, “ The Spunks " and “ Gito Gito Hustler " tour.
In November, the band returned to the U.S to tour with “ Peelander-Z ".
The band returned to SXSW2006 for their third consecutive appearance and then went on to complete the U.S tour.
This Autumn, the band went to Korea to play at Korea's largest music festival, "Ssamzie Sound Festival", along with
“ Ellegarden ", and “ Nicotine ". The "Ssamzie Sounde Festival" was an incredible experience, having been able to play in front
of an audience of over 10,000 people. The crowd went crazy over the band's performance, and cheered for an encore.
Now the buzz about The Emeralds is increasing intensity, where not only the U.S are talking about, or playing the band's music,
but radio stations in Europe and Central America are now playing their music. Along with the exposure, the band's fan base is
increasing in numbers all over the world. The Emeralds are definitely creating momentum with their strong R&R music.
The band's cutting edge performance is like the cutting edge of the Japanese samurai sword "Katana", and the tongue twister
lyrics create a totally unique world for this band. Not only is their performance unique, but so is the way they interact with the
audience; always full of fun and entertainment, adding on that touch of originality that no other band can replicate. They have
now earned themselves the reputation and nickname of "Samurai R&R Trio", and are building on that foundation.
Now the band are looking into finding any U.S or European labels or booking agents that would be interested in working with.
