The Haas APC is a side-loading pallet changer featuring two 40" x 19" steel pallets. The heavy cast-iron base
of the APC is secured directly to the VMC for stability, eliminating the need for further anchoring,
and a three-point leveling system provides stability and prevents rocking.

The Haas Intuitive Programming System is a
proprietary conversational operating system
that uses an easy-to-understand format with
full-colour graphics to guide the operator
through the steps necessary to machine a part.
First, the control leads the operator through
basic job set-up: setting tools and work offsets,
selecting the tool type and specifying the
material being cut. The operator then selects
an operation to perform and fills in basic
information as prompted. Default values are
automatically filled in for spindle speed, depth
of cut and feedrate based on the information as
provided (can be changed by operator). Once all
necessary information entered, pushing Cycle
Start performs the desired operation. Multiple
operations can be recorded and saved as a single
G-code program that can be played back
to duplicate the part.

The ability to turn and mill complex parts and perform
multiple operations on a single machine increases
throughput, reduces handling, and improves
part accuracy.
The live tooling option for Haas lathes allows
you to use standard VDI 40 axial or radial driven
tools to perform secondary operations such as
milling, drilling, flatting and tapping - both on
the face of the part and around the diameter.
This option includes a full C-axis, which provides
interpolated bidirectional motion at precise
speeds and feeds for part positioning and
repeatability. A powerful hydraulic brake locks
the main spindle during secondary operations,
and disengages for turning and indexing.
Live tooling is not available with a standard
bolt-on style tool turret. It is only available with
the VDI or VB Hybrid turret.
