more than 300 days a year and the average temperature
reaches 14º C in winter and 27º C in summer, Calvià reunites
all the enviable conditions necessary for the practice of sport
throughout the entire year. For this reason, our municipality is
synonymous with sport, to play and to enjoy as a spectator.
Calvià offers the visitor several magnificent municipal and
private facilities to play all types of sport at any time of the year:
indoor sport, outdoor sport, sport in contact with nature, etc.
Furthermore, the beaches in the summer also become ideal spots
for all sorts of sporting activities and the different water sports

Sport and nature go hand in hand in Calvià, where the richness and variety of landscapes offer numerous
possibilities to practise sports in direct contact with the natural environment. You can get to know Calvià
on foot via its 100 km of pathways and tracks, or on bicycle, though its mountains or on its roads.
The Galatzó Public Finca, to the north of the municipality in Es Capdellà, also permits you to get to
know one of the most magical corners of Calvià, with the Galatzó mountain dominating the entire
landscape. And for lovers of the sea, the gentle waters of the Mediterranean invite you to practise
water sports or to plunge into its crystalline waters and enjoy diving or underwater fishing.

The Galatzó Public Finca is located in the north of the municipality of Calvià,
near Es Capdellà. It covers approximately 10% of the total of the municipality
and provides the perfect setting for sports in contact with nature.
The types of sport that can be practised range from competition sport
such as MTB, mountain racing, orientation or backcountry hiking to less
demanding disciplines such as walking, pony trekking or archery.
Come to the Galatzó Public Finca and practise your favourite sport
whilst enjoying an exceptional mountain landscape.
Golf
Both professional golf players and amateurs alike can find
incredible opportunities for playing their sport in the golf
courses in the region. The excellent climate, peacefulness
of the surroundings and the high quality of services ensure
that many people return year after year to play golf.

Designed in 1978 by John Harris, this Par 72 golf
course is long and quite difficult, and was designed
for seasoned players with long drives. The facilities
are set in a tree-covered area with six lakes, all
some 3 km from Palmanova (following the road
from Magaluf to the El Toro housing estate).

Golf Santa Ponsa I
This Par 72 course is to be found some 18km from Palma
(direction Andratx) and was designed by Folco Nardi. On
various occasions it has played host to the Balearic Golf
Open Championship (Open de Balears de Golf). It covers
some 70 hectares and is located in a very important setting
with views looking out over the sea and surrounded by
olive trees, palm trees, pine trees, almond trees and lakes.

Golf Santa Ponsa II
In December, 1991, the Golf Santa Ponsa II golf course
was opened, extending over 6,053m and with Par 72.
The majority of holes on the course II are located within
a pine wood and the rest are amongst large lakes, thus
providing many interesting options for playing.

Golf Santa Ponsa III was opened in January 1999,
and extends for a distance of 1,599 m for men
and 1,332 m for women. Par 30, with 3 Par 4 and
6 Par 3. It is the perfect course for beginners and
players who are looking for a short game.

This Par 70 golf course is set in a pine, almond and olive
tree valley, some 70 kms from Palma (following the road
leading to Illetes and Portals Nous). The golf course offers
the following services (amongst others): a practice range,
