A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR
Communication is essential to the
success of Cranberry Township’s
Parks & Recreation Department.
Communication is part of our foundation
and can be found in everything we do.
Enhancements to the Community Center
were based on your input; enhancements
to the Waterpark were based on your
input; and new programs were influenced
by your input.
All of our programs provide the
opportunity for an evaluation; every
receipt provides an opportunity to
complete a survey; every project and
development provides the opportunity
for public input; and 24-hour service
phone numbers are posted throughout
our parks for suggestions. One of our
strongest assets is Cranberry Township’s
Communications Team who help deliver
our messages to you, whether it be
an alert, cancellation, or information
promoting one of our many exceptional
programs. We take great pride in our
award winning communications efforts.
Visit www.Cranberry4FUN.com/Connect
to sign up for our notifications. We are
listening to the pulse of the Township and
ask that you continue to communicate
with us with all of your recommendations!
“If you just communicate, you can get by.
But if you communicate skillfully, you can
work miracles.” Jim Rohn
WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU.

SPORTS
Our soccer partner, N Zone Sports believes that all kids should get to play
the team sports they love. So they focus on the fundamentals, paired with
fun, sportsmanship and teamwork. Kids start having fun right away.
N ZONE SPORTS YOUTH SOCCER
There’s a reason why soccer is the most widely played sport in the world. N Zone
Jr. Soccer allows children to learn the sport at their pace. A seven week season
includes age-specific instruction through a series of fun, interactive activities.
Sessions also include exciting games, where players will have a chance to display
the skills they’re learning. N Zone Sports understands that the more enjoyment
a child has while learning a sport, the more likely they’ll want to keep playing.
The curriculum centers around making each session fun, while learning important
values. Each week, a different value is incorporated into teachings to help players
understand that there is much more to sports than winning and losing.

SPORTS
Veteran North Hills area Coach Dave Gray formed CDG
Sports to apply his belief that there is more to youth sports
than simply winning games. Instead, it’s about learning
life lessons including good sportsmanship, self-confidence, teamwork and having
fun in a safe and nurturing environment. Gray packaged his philosophy into CDG
Sports programs, which offer a series of age-grouped team sports experiences
including basketball, flag football, running and outdoor fitness.
CDG SPORTS CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FLAG FOOTBALL
CDG Sports Flag Football is an excellent way to learn the fundamental skills of
football without the physical contact. Passing, receiving, running the ball, and
offensive/defensive skills will be enhanced through this fast paced, high-action
sport. CDG Sports Flag Football League is open to players ages 6-8 and 9-12. Boys
and girls are welcome. All players will be matched by age, and compete on teams of
up to 7 players. The season will include a “Bowl” game. So start stretching out and
get your friends together for all the football fun you can handle!

EARLY CHILDHOOD
Chris and Alison Saunders launched Keystone State
Music Theatre in 2013 after relocating to Cranberry
following ten years of directing, choreographing and performing onstage
in New York. The couple saw Cranberry as a community ready for a higher
level of musical theater and formed the nonprofit KSMT to offer youth instruction in
various aspects of performance. KSMT serves as an umbrella for stage productions,
including summer theatre camps and a series of professionally cast musical revues

2017 COMMUNITY PROJECT OF THE YEAR
CTCC SportCourts in Graham Park
More info: CTCChest.org
CTCC SportCourts will be located near
the entrance of Graham Park. It will
include areas for different court games,
many the first of their kind in Cranberry,
along with a community garden.
The exact number of courts will be
determined by the amount of money
raised by CTCC for each particular
42
sport. The current plans call for eight
pickleball courts, four tennis courts,
two basketball courts, three bocce
courts, two shuffleboard courts, two
horseshoe courts and two cornhole
courts. It will be the largest Project
of the Year ever undertaken by CTCC,
with an estimated budget of $750,000.
