SPIRIT
On May 6th, the Saint Columbkille community gathered to pay tribute
to our heavenly mother, Mary. The second graders dressed in their
First Holy Communion attire and processed in with our eighth graders.
The second graders’ voices lilted a song in honor of Mary. Then eighth
graders Sarah Armbruster and Dillion Gallagher crowned Mary. Eighth
graders Lauren Dufalla, Jake Szaniszlo, Emma Melynyshyn and
Dominic Roschival rounded out the Tribute to Mary court.

May 29th was our closing school Liturgy, and under the leadership of
our seventh graders it was a truly blessed ending to our fantastic
school year! Our many volunteers were also blessed and thanked for
their countless hours of service to Saint Columbkille School children!
“We give thanks to God for all of you, remembering you in our
prayers, unceasingly calling to mind your work of faith and labor of
love and endurance in the hope of our Lord Jesus
Christ.” (1Thessalonians 1:2-3)
SCHOLARSHIP
CONGRATULATIONS to our Class of 2015 who graduated on May
26, 2015. By their faith and knowledge, the students met the
requirements of Saint Columbkille and the State of Ohio. The mass
was concelebrated by all of our priests and Father O’Connor awarded
the diplomas to the eighth graders.

Mini Olympics
Saint Columbkille School children gathered for friendly competition
and good sportsmanship at the annual Mini Olympics! We began the
day with a prayer and the raising of the flag and Pledge of Allegiance.
Our recent 8th grade alumni came to run the games and parent volunteers aided in making sure everyone stayed injury free. The overall
results for 2015 were: 1st place- The ORANGE team; 2nd place—The
RED team; 3rd place—The YELLOW team and 4th place—The BLACK
team. It was a beautiful, sunshiny day and a wonderful time was had
by all. Thank you to Mr. Andexler for organizing the event!

June 9th was a lovely evening! Instead of breaking ground for the Saint
Columbkille Community Park on the Feast of Saint Columbkille, we
were dedicating the completed park!!! Father O’Connor blessed the
Celtic cross and the Saint Columbkille statue, as well as blessing the
park itself. Afterwards a reception was enjoyed by the attendees.
Please come to the park to reflect and pray over the summer months.
It is truly a gem on our Saint Columbkille grounds. THANK YOU to all
you made this park a reality.
