Florist of the Month
Apple Blossom Florist & Gifts in Winter Park, FL is owned by Robert
and Liz Johnson. They have been in business since 1983! Their florist is second
generation owned and operated. In fact, they are celebrating their 25th Anniversary. That is something to be very proud of!
Elizabeth WON Designer of the Year for the state of Florida in 2005,
besides winning Designer of the Year for Central Florida ’94, ’96, ’99 and '03
and other competitions. Robert placed 3rd for Designer of the Year for Central
Florida in '03.
When I first visited them at their store, Robert informed me about the
Central Florida Florist Association (CFFA). He invited me to the next meeting
they were holding at Florida Wholesale. They have been very helpful to me with
sales and informing me about the floral business. I'm new at this and I appreciate all the input I can get!
When I recently called upon the Robert and Liz, I learned that Liz’s father had passed away. I was so impressed with her attitude about her losing her
Dad. They will honor his life. They focus on celebrating his life at the funeral.
In good Christian faith, they run there business and promise to help fulfill
your floral needs in a timely and professional manner. They are located at

Kim's Recipe: "Chicken & Biscuits"
INGREDIENTS
1 can (103/4 oz.) condensed Cream of chicken soup
¾ cup Sour cream, divided
2 cups chopped cooked chicken
1 pkg. (16 oz.) frozen mixed Vegetables, thawed
1 cup Shredded Mild Cheddar Cheese
1 cup baking mix
3 Tbsp. milk
DIRECTIONS
1. Heat oven to 375 F. Mix soup and ½ cup sour cream in 8-inch square baking dish. Add chicken, vegetables and cheese; mix.
2. Place baking mix in medium bowl. Add remaining ¼ cup sour cream and milk; stir until stiff dough forms.
3. Drop by heaping tablespoons into 6 mounds over chicken mixture. Bake 35 min. or until biscuits are golden brown and chicken mixture is hot and bubbly.

Central Florida Florist Association
We had a surprise show at Pennock Wholesale on October 14th and I was fortunate
enough to be accompanied by my wonderful husband Robert. The guest designer was Ian
Prosser, AIFD, AAF, PFCI. The program was very entertaining and he showed us many beautiful, simple but elegant flower arrangements! He also talked about how to use flowers that have
broken stems and how to use more greenery to make an arrangement look full.
What I found useful for me is to look at the trade magazine advertisements that come out
every month. I want to see what the consumer is looking at. Perhaps this will give me insight as
to what they will look for when they go shopping around for flower arrangements? After all, you
need to be a cut above your neighbor!
The Central Florida Florist Association is having a Christmas Party on November 11th
(2nd Tuesday) at the Deer Run Country Club at 7:00pm. The fee will be $25.00. I look forward to
seeing you'all there and please bring a guest with you to enjoy the festivities!!
