2016 Entertainer Patron Program Book
Siouxland Renaissance Association Entertainer Patron Program By becoming an Entertainer Patron you will assist the Siouxland Renaissance Association in pursuing their mission: "Fostering Education through Re-enactment, Interaction, Presentation and Participation." The term “Patron” is one that has been used for many centuries to designate someone who offers financial and emotional support to artists in many fields. The Renaissance was built on Patrons of the arts supporting artists and entertainers. People like Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Shakespeare could practice their crafts because of patrons. The SRA Entertainer Patron program will allow you to enjoy the status of a 16th century patron in 2016. Sponsor a stage act or give your patronage to one of our many wandering groups of entertainers. Be the exclusive sponsor of an entertainer by donating their entire cost, or share the pleasure and only contribute what you can. We have something for everyone and just as in the Renaissance; it takes everyone to keep the village alive and growing. For your donation you will receive: • Festival Recognition - Your name on a plaque at the stage where your entertainer is performing. If you are the patron of a wandering entertainer the plaque will be posted on the crier’s tower in the center of the festival. • logo (if desired) will be posted on our web site. You will receive special recognition in a series of posts on Facebook in the 4 weeks prior to the festival. • • Social Media Recognition - Your name and business Printed Media Recognition - You will receive posters recognizing your sponsorship of the entertainer you choose before the festival to be displayed at your home or business. Like the tickets, the number of posters is based on the amount of your contribution and is listed on the same chart. Festival Attendance – You will receive entry to the festival based on your contribution so you, along with family, friends and employees, can enjoy the performance of your chosen entertain. You will find a chart at the end of the entertainers showing the ticket to contribution ratios. Now please look through our fantastic array of talent and select who you or your business would like to sponsor for the 2016 Siouxland Renaissance Festival. Then contact our Entertainment Director, Deborah Johnson at [email protected] or 605-351-0852 with questions or for more information. As Europe emerged from the dark ages, minstrels began traveling from village to village telling stories, poetry and playing music. They lived off the generosity of those for whom they performed. Inspired by this nomadic lifestyle and realizing that it wasn’t really ‘work,’ His act, really not all that good, (mostly due to lack of practice and a love of grog) quickly became the namesake mockery of all things mediocre. To this day, when something is referred to as piss-poor, it has its roots with this vagabond magician.” Stage $200 Stage $200 Sioux City Renaissance Recorder Ensemble An engaging group of musicians playing period Renaissance Music on 6 sizes of Recorders.
