The branch’s good standing and reputation in the community were acknowledged when the Selma Chamber of Commerce selected the branch as the Industry of the Year in 2012, a recognition that brought much pride to Joe and his co-workers. Joe, a 12-year EECU employee, says his co-workers motivate him to do his job to the best of his abilities. That in turn inspires him to help them grow within the credit union. The Selma branch’s cordial atmosphere fosters more than just a positive work environment. “I feel I have two families,” Joe says, “my family at home and my family at the Selma branch.” Joe, his wife, Melissa – a registered nurse – and their four children live in Sanger where he was born and raised. He and his family spend much of their time at the children’s athletic events. Joe also coaches youth football and baseball. The family also enjoys a longstanding tradition of annual summer camping trips to Capitola with other relatives.
