Upon arrival you’ll be transported to your hotel for a four-night stay at the Drury Inn & Suites located right in the heart of San Antonio’s Riverwalk. This evening, you’ll have an opportunity to mingle with your fellow travelers and other hotel guests at a welcome reception with complimentary hors d’oeuvres and beverages, followed by an included Welcome Dinner at the Lone Star Cafe. [D] Day 2—San Antonio Touring Breakfast is included at your hotel this morning before we are joined by a local guide for a comprehensive sightseeing tour of the city. The history of San Antonio and Texas comes alive as we explore the area’s historical landmarks, including the Alamo, Mission San Jose, and El Mercado - an authentic Mexican Marketplace. This afternoon we travel to the Silver Spur Guest Ranch where The Alamo you’ll enjoy a variety of activities. Embark on a historical hay ride and tour the ranch and neighboring State Natural Park with a stop to feed the longhorns. Learn the history and interesting information about the region and its legendary local cowboys. Later, you’ll be treated to a show by world champion trick roper Kevin Fitzpatrick, culminating in the ringing of an old fashioned dinner bell announcing a hearty BBQ meal in the lodge dining room followed by S’mores around the campfire. [B, D] Day 3—Optional Trip to Austin After an included breakfast at the hotel this morning enjoy the rest of the day on your own to explore San Antonio, stroll the Riverwalk, or relax at the hotel. Or, for an additional $79, join your Tour Director for an optional side excursion to Austin, the state capital, where we’ll visit the LBJ Presidential Library and Museum, explore the Bullock State History Museum and enjoy an included lunch, and embark on a docent-guided tour of the State Capitol building. [B] Day 4—LBJ National Historic Park Following breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Lyndon B. Johnson National Historic Park. See the house where LBJ was born in 1907, drive by the cemetery where he and the First Lady were laid to rest, and take a guided tour of the Johnson’s private ranch house— affectionately know as “the Texas White House,” which the President and Mrs. Johnson donated to the National Park Service. This afternoon we motor to the beautifully preserved German village of Fredericksburg where you’ll have time on your own for lunch and shopping before we return to San Antonio. This evening enjoy an included dinner at Rio Rio Cantina before boarding embarking on a 1-hour narrated river cruise that meanders along the Riverwalk beneath thousands of twinkling lights and past the famous luminarias that cast a magical glow as they reflect off the river and towering oak tress. Upon arrival back in San Diego, you’ll receive chauffeured transportation to your home with warm memories of big blue skies, towering Oak trees, Southern hospitality and your Christmastime on San Antonio’s Riverwalk. Travel Insurance: Optional Travel Insurance is available through Travel Insured International at a cost of $116-$147 per person. This option protects your investment in the event you’re forced to cancel your reservation at the last minute for a variety of covered reasons, and may also provide for medical expenses in the event of a covered injury or other medical emergency while you’re on the tour. Cancellations And Refunds: For reservations not covered by the optional Cancellation Protection Plan, you must cancel your reservation by September 29, 2016 to receive a refund, transfer or credit. A $100 processing fee will be assessed. Unused portions of the tour are non-refundable. If DayTripper Tours cancels the tour you are entitled to a full refund without penalty.
