Greetings From Greetings From My term as Grand Chancellor is almost over. The Grand Lodge Convention will be June 6—8, 2014 in Irving, TX at the Embassy Suites. Stephenville had a great motorcycle rally with a lot of riders. We enjoyed great fellowship and good hot dogs. Thanks to Lodge #227. Good job! I did rank work with Mineral Wells Lodge #212. We admitted six new knights into the Lodge. The House that Love Built continues to do a great job. We want to thank Lisa and her staff for their efforts. I’ve made official visits to most of our Lodges and plan to visit more before the Grand Lodge Convention. I hope to see as many members as possible. See you June 6th. Happy Spring ladies. I can’t believe that it is already spring time. We had a really cold winter this year. I hope that everyone is doing well. District Meeting was March 22nd at Eleanor Temple in Fort Worth. It was good to see a lot of you in attendance. I also want to mention The Easter Party on April 20th at the Children’s Home in Weatherford. I am asking each Temple to make a donation toward the party for the children. Angela Underwood, Grand Junior is in charge of the event. Grand Council is on April 19th and we will need to get everything under way for Grand Temple on June 6, 7 and 8th. Please contact me if anyone needs help with anything. I want to thank everyone for a wonderful year. Everyone has been very helpful to me and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. There were fun parties and gifts galore! It is impossible to list all of the people who were so thoughtful and generous during the holidays without missing someone, so we apologize to those who may not be listed. We would like to recognize the following for contributing to our holiday: The Brinson Family and Friends, XTO Energy, Alvord High School Spanish Club, Chosen Generation Home Schoolers, The Sears Family, Weatherford College National Student Nursing Association, Jerry and Vickie Durant, Grand Prairie High School, Straight 6 Mafia, Office Max, APFA, Apex, Felix Woods and the UTA Cadets, Hope Outreach Church, United All Stars, Godley Western Fellowship, Regladores, Mike and Peg Standish, the Knights of Pythias, the Pythian Sisters, The Pythian Home children’s “Weekend Sponsors” and “Birthday Sponsors” and some who wish to remain anonymous. We are fortunate to have so many people who support the Home during the holidays. Some of these same individuals, organizations and businesses continue to support us throughout the year. This ongoing support helps us provide for the children. Thank you so much! May God bless you for your generosity and compassion. Homecoming was held October 5th. Despite the cold weather everyone had a great time visiting with ex-students and current residents. The children had fun doing the limbo and hula-hooping. A delicious lunch of pulled pork sandwiches and all the trimmings was served by the Dry Cows Traveling Club from Mineral Wells, Texas. The annual Pythian Roll Calls begin the end of October and end just before Thanksgiving. The children and staff attended some of these. www.pythianhome.org March2014.indd 9 They always enjoy visiting with the Knights and Sisters. Winter brought cold and ice which caused some schedule changes for Christmas parties but everything worked out and the children enjoyed a wonderful Christmas season. There were even some snow days away from school. The Balloon Man (Jesse Meza) from the Ft. Worth Stockyards came to spend some time with the children and made each of them their own ballon sculpture. He says that his mission is to Praise God, bless people, and serve children. Our children were blessed by his visit. Jerry Kaifetz, a local member of the Rotary Club, brought his race car to give rides to the children and staff. Before riding the children were given the safety rules and presented with a certificate. Everyone waited patiently for their turn to be buckled in for the quick ride around the campus. Some of his motorcycle friends also visited and gave the children rides. A good time was had by all! We are looking forward to Spring and Summer!
