Country Pavilions
Every Edition of INDIAWOOD, one of the main
attractions for visitors has been the many exhibitors
from other countries and the variety of machines,
tools, materials and other woodworking products
they have on display. These are best encapsulated in
the Country Pavilions.
Canada
The Indian Government recently
approved the import of several
exciting new species of Canadian
lumber. A group of Canadian timber exporters will
be here at INDIAWOOD for the first time under the
Canadian High Commission, after a highly successful
participation in DELHIWOOD 2011. This year they
have taken more space: 105 sq. m.
China
China’s manufacturing prowess
has really come into prominence
in the past few years and their
woodworking machinery, tools and other products
are today of much higher quality than they used to
be. Two different groups will once again be exhibiting
at INDIAWOOD 2012, each representing a different
region of China, with about 35 exhibiting companies
all together taking up 822 sq. m of space.
Germany
The German pavilion under VDMA
is naturally still the largest country
pavilion, since Germany is still the
world leader in woodworking technology. Many of
the industry’s cutting edge inventions and innovations
have originated in this country, which is also the world’s
largest exporter of woodworking machinery. About
45 German companies will be under the German flag,
totaling a whopping 3,000 sq. m of space.
Italy
For many years, Italy has been a major
part of the INDIAWOOD experience.
Known for their style and attention
to detail, the Italians are outstanding when it comes to
finishing, coatings and other aesthetic elements of the
wood industries. While at previous editions, the Italian
Pavilion was organised by the Italian Trade Commission
(ICE) in Mumbai, this year the organiser of their 708 sq.
m. space is ACIMALL.

Malaysia
One of the most import sources
of timber for the Indian market,
Malaysia has been developing
its timber exporting industry at a fast pace. The
Malaysian Timber Council has organised this pavilion
to showcase some of its leading timber and wood
product exporting companies in 102 sq. m of space.
Taiwan
The Taiwan Pavilion is another
regular feature of INDIAWOOD
exhibitions. Visitors of INDIAWOOD
2010 will remember their incredible 3D display in
Hall 1 Upper Level. About 25 Taiwanese companies
are expected to participate this year and they have
booked 552 sq. m.
Turkey
This country, on the border between
Europe and Asia, has long been a
favourite source of raw materials
and components for many Indian manufacturers.
Their industry has developed a very attractive priceperformance ratio for panels, edge bands, plastic and
metal components and hardware. This year, visitors
can expect to see approximately 20 Turkish exhibitors,
totaling 597 sq. m. of space.
U.S.A.
The American Hardwood Export
Council has been a regular exhibitor
at INDIAWOOD in recent years
and American hardwood lumber and products have
been quickly gaining in popularity in India. This year,
Around 20 companies will be coming under the AHEC
umbrella, occupying a total of 208 sq. m.
