From the Desk of Stentson Carpenter
The month of June is almost over and it is hard to believe that yearend is approaching fast. Blueberries and thornless blackberries are
ripe on the bushes and a few of us have already enjoyed some of the
berries. (Those in the know tell me these kinds of fruit are very
healthy). It is truly a beautiful site to see 650 blueberry and 150
blackberry bushes growing and producing berries. They were planted in late fall of last year and for them to already be producing in
early summer, is awesome. A lot of work went into making the beginning of something new for Rainbow Omega. The hard work is
already proving to be worthwhile because we will have lots of berries for our folks to eat and lots to sale to the public. Make your
plans to come visit Rainbow Omega next year for your berry needs.
We will offer “U-Pick” or we will pick the berries for you. This is
just the beginning!
Our Birmingham dinner was a big success. We owe many thanks to
Coach Malzahn from Auburn University, our guest speaker. It was
definitely Auburn fan night because here in Alabama, football is
right next to religion. That is okay, when in its rightful place. I
found Coach Malzahn to be very personable, he shared a lot of
things that night that people did not know. His wife attended the
dinner with him. Auburn University has a great team in Coach Malzahn and his wife, Kristi.
Also, I would like to thank Mr. Alva Lambert, Mr. Clark Bruner and
the staff from the State Health Planning and Development Agency
for guiding us with technical assistance in helping secure ten Certificates of Need for our ICF home. Mr. Lambert and his staff were
extremely helpful.
Mission: To glorify God by ensuring that
adults with developmental disabilities have
a permanent and safe home where their
abilities and potentials are respected and
nurtured in a Christian environment.

Summer kicked off about a month ago with youth groups coming to
Rainbow Omega. It can’t be said how much we appreciate all the
hard work these young people do while they are here visiting from
different churches from around Alabama, Tennessee and from as far
away as Texas. They do much needed work around our campus that
saves us thousands of dollars in labor. Also, the interaction with our
residents builds friendships that continue well after they leave.
Pat Wright
Finally, I would like to thank all of our supporters and I’m honored
you have chosen to support Rainbow Omega. I hope and pray that
we have been good stewards of the money invested. If you haven’t
done so, I encourage you to visit our campus and see all the smiling
faces we serve on a daily basis.
May God bless you!
Sincerely,
Sojourners visit
during May of
each year. They
accomplish so
much for the few
weeks they are
here at Rainbow
Omega.

from the Meridianville Church of Christ Youth Group of Meridianville, AL .
Honda Manufacturing Presents a 2010 Honda Odyssey Van
Rainbow Omega was donated a 2010 Honda Odyssey Van
from Honda Manufacturing of Alabama located in Lincoln,
AL. This gift will provide reliable transportation for our residents.
Honda Manufacturing is the largest contract of our Vocational Program. Our residents assemble the owner’s manual kits
for every vehicle built at the Lincoln plant. On average,
1,500 units are assembled and shipped to Honda each day.

He
never meets a stranger and he feels just as comfortable in our state’s capital
building as he does on the Honda
assembly line at the vocational

John with Lt. Gov. Kay Ivey
John was asked back in January of
2014 about doing the Pledge of
Allegiance for the opening session
of the Senate at the state capital
in Montgomery. Of course John
didn’t hesitate in saying yes. John
may have been a little nervous
but not once did he let that show.
Congratulations John!

laying sod and mulching the blueberry field from the
