Mr. Héctor Turcios opened the event with the Presentation of the VI Edition
of Expo Energía 2016, informing about the activities to be developed within the
framework of the Event.

During his speech, the Ambassador of France, Dr. Pierre-Christian Soccoja,
emphasized on the enormous potential that exists in Honduras in the generation of
clean and efficient energy.

Mr. José Galdames, Ministry of Energy, Natural Resources,
Environment and Mines (Mi Ambiente),
spoke about the projects in which the Government is working for
development in favor of sustainable management of the Natural
Resources and the Environment, actions that are aimed at reducing
vulnerability that we are facing due the phenomenon of climate change.
The commitment to restore a million hectares of forest by 2030,
requested at the plenary session of the Convention of the United
Nations Climate Change; fully and explicitly consider the high
vulnerability of Central America and limiting global warming to 1.5
degrees.
