Responsorial Psalm
The Lord is My Light
Psalm 27
Lillian Bouknight
Verses
1. The LORD is my light and my salvation;
whom should I fear?
The LORD is my life’s refuge;
of whom should I be afraid?
2. Hear, O LORD, the sound of my call;
have pity on me, and answer me.
Of you my heart speaks; you my glance seeks.
3. Your presence, O LORD, I seek.
Hide not your face from me;
do not in anger repel your servant.
You are my helper: cast me not off.
4. I believe that I shall see the bounty of the LORD
in the land of the living.
Wait for the LORD with courage;
be stouthearted, and wait for the LORD.

Verse 1
Lord the Light_ of Your Love_ is shin-ing,_
In_ the midst of the dark-ness_ shin-ing,_
Je-sus light_ of the world_ shine up-on us,_
Set us_ free_ by the truth_ You now_ bring_ us,_
Shine_ on_ me_. Shine_ on_ me.__
Refrain
Shine_ Je-sus_ shine_
Fill this land_ with_ the Fa-ther's_ glo-ry_
Blaze,_ Spirit _blaze,_ set our hearts_ on_ fire_
Flow,_ ri-ver_ flow_
Flood_ the nations_ with grace_ and mer-cy_
Send_ forth _Your_ word_
Lord and let_ there_ be light._
Verse 2
Lord _I come_ to Your awe-some_ pres-ence,_
From_ the sha-dows_ in-to_ Your ra-di-ance,_
By the blood _I may en-ter _Your bright-ness,_
Search me, -try me, _con-sume_ all my dark-ness,_
Shine _on_ me._ Shine_ on_ me._
Refrain
Verse 3
As _we gaze on Your kind-ly_ bright-ness._
So_ our faces dis-play_ Your like-ness._
E-ver _chang-ing_ from glo-ry_ to glo-ry,_
Mirrored here_ may our lives _tell Your sto-ry._
Shine_ on_ me._ Shine_ on_ me._
Refrain

Meditation Song

Concluding Rite
Blessing and Dismissal

Closing Song
We Will Be the Light
1. Let your light shine, let us walk in the light.
Let your love flow, help us to know what is right.
Let your graces fall to renew us all
and we will delight as your people, O God!
Refrain
2. The world cannot see you through the darkness it dwells in.
There’s a night to hide the darkness of sin.
But if we love one another and pardon our brother
we can let delight back in, light the fire once again!

In Memoriam
Negrita Maria Jayde
July 5, 1958 - August 28, 2009
Negrita was one of our own ~
a CIMA angel, gone too soon.
She was a shining example of faith, love and
unconditional friendship. We will forever miss
her bright smile and unbridled enthusiasm.
Rest in peace, dear friend and colleague.

Catholics In Media Associates
Catholics In Media Associates was formed by working
professionals in the entertainment industry whose initial purpose
was to share personal concerns of faith and spirituality as they
are experienced in the workplace.
From that early beginning came the CIMA Awards
recognizing those projects and people in the entertainment industry who, by their work, have made clearer the Word of God.
These awards were created to promote and applaud films,
television programs and individuals that uplift the spirit and help
us better understand what it is to be part of the human family.
The CIMA Sculpture
Each CIMA Award is an original, signed abstract expressionist work in laminated acrylic by the Yugoslav born artist,
VASA. Naturalized an American citizen in 1967, VASA is a
Professor of Art at the University of California at Los Angeles,
and is internationally recognized for his work. His artwork
“affirmatively confronts the spiritual and physical surroundings
from which it arises, and is seeking its place.”
This piece was chosen to symbolize the ideals of CIMA
because its obliquely ascending, three-sided, luminous prism
represents our human and imperfect reach to capture the Light
of the Trinity in illuminating our work. In containing the same
elements of beauty of the sculptural piece, we honor our
colleagues’ works as “vehicles of Light,” and express our
gratitude to them for presenting the complex colors of the
human condition.
