We enjoyed all sorts of good food with our good friends. There were many awards, some serious and some just for fun. Delena Conn received the Sam Doty Commemorative. The generous Model A family contributed $727 to the Community Food bank together along with some actual food. Thanks to Chuck Thim for the fun slides. Thanks to the awards committee for all their hard work: Bruce Edwards, Allen Elvick, and Chuck Thim. Thanks to my wife, Bernice Edwards, for a job well done!!!! We had restoration awards to Carey & Linda Kent and Barbara Jo Birt for 2009 restorations of Model A's. Respectfully submitted, Ron Edwards 1 January 23 Dillinger Days– from 9am to 5pm. Our guests were Jim Feebers, Eldon and Roberta Weaver (Loveland, CO), and Bud Duval. We also had two new members, Jim and Barbara Thur from Minnesota. Thanks to Frank Pyrdeck, Nancy Gurley, and Ron and Bernice Edwards for our refreshments. Name-badge Fine Giveaway: Iola Stroehlein was the winner of $16 plus change. The treasurer’s report was given and approved by a vote of the membership. Door Prize: Won by Bud Duval. Correspondence: Correspondence, newsletters, and letters of thanks are on front table. Also, there is information about upcoming swap meets and various Model A National and regional conventions. Old Business: Holiday Banquet – Ron Edwards, chairperson. There were 92 members and guests and 27 Model As that attended. Thanks to the awards committee for all of their work. Delena Conn was the recipient of the Sam Doty Award. $727 was given to the Community Food Bank from our club and membership. Thanks to Bernice ―for keeping everything straight‖ (including Ron). There were two restorations: Barbara Birt’s Telephone truck and Carey Kent’s Roadster Pickup. Ron gave his apologies to Chuck Thim for rushing him through the slide show. We voted at the end of the Banquet to have the dinner at TV Guest Ranch again next year. It will be held on December 12, 2010. One remaining ―award‖ was presented to Ron Uhle tonight. (It was a gas refill reminder.) January outing – Delena Conn, chairperson: Arivaca – Jan 24. Meet at the Desert Diamond Casino on Nogales Hwy at 10:30 for donuts and plan to leave at 11:00. (Bring your own drink.) The Ladies Club of Arivaca will provide a choice of Turkey and Dressing dinner with all of the trimmings or Lasagna. Drinks and dessert are included. Cost is $10 for members and $13 for non members. Money needs to be turned-in by January 15 to Delena. Lunch will be at 1:00 and there will be live music afterwards. Members can make a donation for the musicians. All of the lunch proceeds will be given to local Arivaca charities. 4 Car shows: A. Dillenger Days are coming up on Sat. January 23. We need at least 50 cars and so far there are 45 signed-up. Be there by 8:30. They would like the cars to stay until 5:00 but if you have to leave earlier, let Ray know. There will probably be only two shows, one at 1:00 and 2:30. Wear period clothes if you have them. Contact Ray Feierstein with any questions or if you can bring a car but haven’t signed up. B. Jeff Epley told about a one-day show on Labor Day. More info will come as the date gets closer. C. Pima County Fair in April – More information in upcoming meetings. D. The Fountains at La Cholla on March 13 from 11:30 – 4:00. More info will be available in the February meeting. Bring them to the meeting and give them to Nancy. The next board meeting will be held on Monday, January 25 at 7:00 pm at the Jim Click Ford 22nd Street location. All members are welcome.
