Contest Execution & Guidelines
Singers wishing to participate in Fox 14’s Ark-La-Miss Idol contest will be instructed to
pre-register by picking up an application at KARD Fox 14 or by downloading application
on myarklamiss.com. . After application is completed, applicant can drop off or mail
application to KARD Fox 14, 200 Pavilion Road, West Monroe, LA 71292. or fax
completed application to: (318) 322-0926, or scan the application and email to:
[email protected] . All participants must be 15-28 years old by 6/1/15 to be eligible
to enter. Participants must provide proof of identity and age. All participants under the
age of 18 must be accompanied by parent or guardian. Completed applications will be
accepted in advance of the competition by representatives of KARD. The first 50 singers
who qualify based on promotion guidelines will be accepted and registered to participate.
All registration forms must be completed and received either electronically or at the
television studio of KARD Fox 14 by 12 Noon CST on Friday, August 14, 2015. The
qualifying singers will be contacted and notified of audition times prior to the
competition. The competition will be held at Pecanland Mall in Monroe, Louisiana on
Saturday, August 15, 2015 from 1pm-5pm CST. Registered singers will be instructed to
arrive no later than 12:00 Noon CST before their actual audition to check in and get
assigned seating. Any contestant who arrives after 12:00 Noon CST will NOT be
allowed to perform. A judging team comprised of area celebrities will evaluate each
round of competition. In the case of ties, the judges and station management reserve the
right to conduct a 30 second acapella sing off. In the 1st round of competition, all
participating acts will perform a thirty second acapella-style singing audition. The four
categories that the contestants will be judged on are: song choice, stage presence,
pitch/vocal technique, and appearance/style. Ten finalists will be announced after the first
round of competition. The 2nd round of competition will follow with the judging team
evaluating each 1 minute acapella-style performance. After all 10 finalists have
performed, the judges will take approximately 15 minutes to deliberate and score each
finalist. The top 3 finalists with the highest scores will then sing a full song acapella-style
which will be limited to 3 minutes in length. Judges will score each finalist. Judges
reserve the right to rescore any contestant no more than one time in each round of
competition before the final tabulation of that specific round. Any rescoring must be done
before final tabulation. After final tabulation, rescoring will not be allowed. The finalist
with the highest total score in round three competition will be announced as the Grand
Prize Winner of Fox 14’s Ark-La-Miss Idol contest and receive the following:

Silver Ticket Round in Little Rock, Arkansas, on August 23, 2015 at the Statehouse
Convention Center.
Two night hotel accommodations (double occupancy) to be selected and reserved

by KARD Fox 14. Estimated value $ 300.00.
Gas allowance reimbursement up to $100.00 with proof of purchase
In the event production of American Idol is cancelled or postponed, the audition ticket
portion of the prizing may be cancelled without substitution or compensation therefore..
Prizing is non transferable and cannot be sold to or used by any person(s) other than the
winner and designated guardian if applicable. Additional execution rules and regulations
may apply closer to auditions. Affiliates will be notified of any changes.
GUARANTEED AUDITION
1. All participants in Fox 14’s Ark-La-Miss Idol audition program must meet all eligibility
guidelines. This includes, for example, age requirements. All participants must be 15-28
years old as of 6/1/15 to be eligible to enter. It is your responsibility to verify age and all
other eligibility requirements.
2. There is only one (1) guaranteed audition for one (1) winner per affiliate in front of an
AMERICAN IDOL producer, provided said winner meets all eligibility requirements and
complies with audition rules. Fox 14’s Ark-La-Miss Idol winner will not audition in front
of any AMERICAN IDOL judge or an AMERICAN IDOL Guest Judge during this
guaranteed audition and will not receive preferential treatment for callbacks. Local winner
must be determined solely by a talent-based competition, and must be eligible to audition
under the published AMERICAN IDOL audition rules. The official rules can be found at
www.americanidol.com.

The sponsor, KTVE, KARD and Myarklamiss.com may amend these rules at any time and
reserve the right to discontinue the contest, the taking of additional entries or the
participation by any particular station, market or sponsor. "Station reserves the right to
substitute prizes of equal or greater value without notice." The prize is non-transferable.. As
the contest winner, contestant acknowledges that the sponsor, KTVE/KARD and
Myarklamiss.com have the right to publicize your name, photograph for promotional
purposes without financial remuneration..
Entrants agree that Nexstar Broadcasting and its stations, subsidiaries and affiliated
companies, and advertising and promotion agencies, and each of their respective officers,
directors, employees, representatives, licensees, assignees and agents including: Fox
Broadcasting Company, Twenty-First Century Fox, Inc., Fox Entertainment Group, Inc.,
Fox Networks Group, Inc., FreemantleMedia North America, Inc., AMERICAN IDOL
Productions, Inc., 19 Recordings, Inc., 19 Entertainment, Inc., CORE Media Group Inc., and
19 TV Limited, their parent, subsidiary, affiliated and related entities, and the officers,
directors, employees, licensees and assignees of each (collectively, the "Released Parties")
will have no liability whatsoever for, and are released and shall be held harmless by entrants
from and against any liability, for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind, to persons,
including death, or property resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from
acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize or from participation in this contest or in
any contest-related activity.
Claiming Prizes: The winner of Fox 14's Ark-La-Miss Idol contest will be announced the
day of the contest on August 15, 2015. Failure to collect the prize within one week of
winner notification during the business hours of 8a-5pm at KTVE-KARD television stations
constitutes forfeiture of the prize. If forfeited, the prize will remain the property of KTVE,
KARD and Myarklamiss.com, and another winner will be selected. The winner must supply
a valid social security card, driver's license and complete a W-9 form before grand prize will
be awarded. An affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release form must be signed
and returned prior to prize being awarded. For contest winner's name, send a self-addressed
stamped envelope to KTVE-KARD, Attention: Fox 14's Ark-La-Miss Idol Contest, 200
