Broker’s Comment:
“Meteor” is one of the finest examples of this yachtsman’s motor boat out there. She is a fantastically stylish 40’
motor yacht with a surprisingly spacious and private two cabin layout. “Meteor” has had two extremely meticulous
owners from new, she boasts of a very high specification, a complete service history, and many practical extras to
help make the experience as pleasurable as possible. She really must be viewed to be appreciated.
Owner’s Comment:
I have owned her from autumn 2011 and am only the second owner. The first (from 2004) had owned a shaft-driven
Swordsman 40 previously. I believe kept her in the UK for 2/3 years before taking her back to his homeland, Finland
where each winter she was laid up in a heated shed. He died in 2011 when I bought her and had her transported
back to the Hamble. In my ownership she has been extensively upgraded with a generator, more comfortable saloon
seating, electric heads, a second holding tank, satphone, new stainless steel-trimmed windscreen and folding radar
arch, etc. In the last 5 years she has cruised the South Coast extensively including to the West Country, was
transported by road to Penton Hook on the River Thames, cruised up to Oxford, back and down through the Pool of
London and round to the South Coast again. In 2014 she was transported to mainland Spain, cruised the coast and
voyaged to the Balearic Islands. She has been equipped specifically for single-handed operation with an MOB auto
engine stop system, a double set of davits for her RIB tender and outboard. She has always provided enormous joy
for me and my guests in traditional surroundings.
Construction:
RCD Status: The yacht conforms with the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC (Recreational Craft
Directive) and is categorised B – “Offshore”
Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:
 Wide 15” teak side decks.
 Large teak foredeck provides good working platform for mooring and anchoring.
 A classic seakindly deep ‘V’ hull laminated with Isophthalic resin and foam core in topsides.
 All bottom stringers, longitudinal and engine beds are constructed to the same standards as used in the
original military spec Fairey Dagger on which the hull is based. Hull to deck laminated together to provide
strength and ensure watertight joint. Three sets of spray rails to ensure dry ride.
 The deck is also moulded in Isophthalic resin and gel coats, closed cell foam reinforced deck for sound and
insulation properties, end grain balsa used in coach roof. Teak laid deck and cockpit sole. 1¼” Stainless steel
pulpit & aft quarter rails.
