Day 2 & 3; May 14th & 15th 2013: :– MARA NATIONAL RESERVE- MARA SOPA LODGE
After breakfast, depart to Maasai Mara arriving for lunch at your lodge. Enjoy an afternoon game viewing drive
before returning to your lodge later as the sun sets for dinner and overnight. On the second day, you will have a full
day of game viewing drive with all meals and overnight at the lodge.
The Masai Mara National Reserve is in the south western part of Kenya and forms part of the greater eco-system that
encompasses the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. The Masai Mara (also spelt Maasai Mara) is one of the best known and
most visited reserves in Africa. The park is surrounded by concession areas and tribal lands of the Maasai tribes people. These
are unfenced from the Mara and act as a buffer zone for the National Park and form part of the migration area. At times
certain parts the Park can get a little overrun with amazing wildlife , so it is recommended to select your time and destination
carefully.
The Masai Mara consists of open savannah, rolling grasslands and undulating hills. In this undiscovered land we see one of
the greatest spectacles on earth- the annual migration of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle coming from the plains of the
Serengeti. Driven by dry conditions in the Serengeti and led by the lightning and thunder to the north, huge herds of
mammals cross the Tanzanian border and rivers to reach the Mara's grasslands.

round buildings with thatched roofs and interiors that reflect the rich Masai culture and art.
After a game drive you can get refreshed in the pool, sip on cocktails or experience an African barbeque while enjoying
African Theme Nights. You can also purchase gifts and clothing from the gift shop.
