The dining room and the kitchen are without exception

Stains
Stains and Tinctures
We do not warranty or recommend Tincture on high wear surfaces such as a table top, as it is
not a paint and is not bonded directly to the wood but instead, is applied between the sealer
and lacquer. True North’s standard is to leave high wear surfaces and interiors of cabinets
and drawers, stained. When ordering a tincture finish, a stain colour must be selected for
the undercoat.

Product Knowledge
- Every piece can be built in any combination of Four Styles; Standard – MissionContemporary – Applied Molding
- Every piece comes with medium rub and distress. Combinations from light,
heavy or no rub and distress are also available
- Bottom cutouts can be done in Five Styles: Standard - Mission – Angled –
Arched and No Cutout
- Mission and Contemporary Styles have a different Crown Molding
- Our product comes Standard Style: standard top, doors, drawers and cutout
- All items can be stained in two tones
- We pre-stain all door panels and backing so that wood movement will not reveal
unfinished areas

True North products are made of solid wood and solid core pine plywood. Wood
is a living product and will change in colour and will move over its life depending
on the environment it is exposed to.
All of our products will have some knots and other natural wood characteristics,
such as large grain. We cannot eliminate knots from any top or drawer face. Knots
will always be a part of our products look and feel. When items are tinctured /
painted we apply a sealer to the knots, however the knots may show through the
tincture.
All lumber is graded at the mill, in addition we grade the lumber at the shop as
we are building parts. Moisture content is checked at our shop as well as during
construction. All of these steps are used to help ensure a consistent product ends
up in your store.
Custom Work
True North is able to offer a limited amount of Custom built items. Custom
contract work is available for larger projects, and can be done in any design and
any material.
Modifications to our existing product line are available on a “one off” basis. Any
change to our existing products, requires a Custom Quote. When requesting a
Custom Quote, please fax the specifications and drawing to us. Include the item
number of the piece you want to be Customized. Remember that any change, no
matter how small, will affect face frame, door and drawer sizes and, will add to the
cost.
A detailed drawing is required before production can begin. It is the retailer’s
responsibility to ensure a drawing is forwarded with your order.
