Danish language and cultural exchange
Based on the language - Danish as a second language - we

a presentation in Danish about the students own country
and culture. Concurrently, we will work with grammar
individually and collectively.

period, this is the place where you can work with your
Danish language skills at a level that suits you. Since
you live at the school, you are constantly trained in the
language and challenged to use what you have learned
in the Danish classes.
The study trip
City experiences
The study trip is an important part of the academic content
in every semester. Without this trip we would not really be
able to call ourselves the international meeting of
cultures.
At the study trip we visit a metropolis in Europe. We have
previously visited Berlin, Barcelona and Istanbul. We are
away for 5-7 days and return home with a backpack full of
experiences. Cultural exchange, art, music, architecture, history, experiences, inspiration and community are key words
for our study trip. Together we will travel to a city to explore
and familiarize with a city’s history and culture.
Curiosity, the search for language comprehension
and way of living in another country starts many
weeks before departure. Together, we plan
the trip and acquaint our self with history, music and art in the country.
To move around in a city, to use
the public transport and learn
to use the cultural offers in
the city. This is one of the
goals by the choice of a
metropolis.
But not least the
experience and
inspiration that we
bring back home for
new art projects,
designs or to
new tracks. This is
very significant. The
journey is a combination of tours
together, presentations and experiences
with afternoons and
evenings off, where you
on your own can explore
the culture of a metropolis.
Common
classes
Song, team building, lectures /
stories cultural evenings
The Folk High School Songbook is important to us
at Brenderup. We sing every day when we have our
morning assembly. Every week we have singing
classes and music class often get us to hum along.
The song opens up presence in the community - lyrics and melodies reveal new layers of the importance
of using them often. Team-building activities put
your interpersonal skills to a test - you will be aware
of your strengths and gain insight to where you have
something to work on.
Your ideas to solve a specific task can often be
refined, and with help from the group, the cooperation may move mountains (almost!). You get good
stories and interesting lectures by the teachers of
the school. They have interesting things to say and
they are eager to tell about it. By the weekly cultural
evening you will be introduced to food from other
places in the world, different dances and games and
music and language with a “skewed” sound. You
are here to help us to show the uniqueness of your
culture and you get a ton of impressions from other
people’s cultures.
Feature days/week
Basically we plan feature days / weeks where it fits in during the semester. It is
a project where all the students collaborate on a project. For example a theater
project or an art or a decoration job. Feature Days can also be days when we go
on trip to see something that has relevance to what we working with.
Project week
The Project week gives you the ability to work independently with a self-selected topic in art, music, design, dance,
theater, film, photography, technology, etc. You will gain
insight into the work flow from conception to description
and implementation of the project.
During this process, you get the guidance of a teacher. In
the end of the project week we make a presentation of our
projects.
Tour at the Højskole
You can feel free to visit our school at
