Natural pleasure amidst a really cosy atmosphere We are what we eat. What for some of us might seem like a corny saying, often begin to acquire more meaning in our fast moving world nowadays. Sitting down together to enjoy a good meal with the assurance of carefully, refined and cleverly prepared local and whole some ingredients – these things denote a substantial portion of quality of life and the certainty that you are doing something good for yourself and your health. Tyrol takes great pride in itself for being a real mecca for adherents of down-to-earth and at the same time creative cuisine. Each region produces its own special products, each culture has developed its own traditions, and Tyrol is culinarily characterised above all as an erstwhile mountain farming region for hundreds of years. There is a whole range of local products which are associated with Tyrol, most of all apples, cured hams and wine. But there’s even more – and all these things find their way into the Tyrolean cuisine. The Alpha and Omega of good cuisine is the quality of the ingredients, many of which have become endangered today by genetic farming. In many places the diversity of the types of products has been eliminated leaving only the marketable products remaining. Regionalism means reversing this trend to allow the chance to be close to nature again, promote local high-quality products from the farms and offer seasonally produced products which are grown in the surrounding. Guests should feel comfortable and at ease after dining. That’s the recipe for success from our chef de cuisine. Peter Lassnigs qualities emit from his inner energy and calmness. Unpretentiously, level headed and quietly he prepares his culinary creations, which are not mixed accidentally but which are thoroughly sophisticated and expression of a deeper meaning. It’s a matter of course for Peter Lassnig that all ingredients should be as fresh as possible and follow the rhythm of nature. In his cuisine he creates an excellent partnership between traditional local homemade cooking with local products and a light fish and vegetable cuisine. This excellent cuisine is then served to you in the good old traditional Austrian restaurant in our Alpenhotel. Your host and qualified wine expert Peter Lorenz is personally responsible for the selection of the appropriate wines to accompany the meals. Peter is strongly biased towards the smaller manufacturers and authentic grape varieties. Changes in booked arrangements during your stay at the hotel as well as refunds for non-consumed meals and other benefits of the half board arrangement are not possible. • We kindly ask you to do not smoke in the restaurants. • Half board for children sharing parents’ room: up to 3 years old free, from 3-6 years € 34,-, from 7-15 years old € 52,- to € 54,-. From 14 years old 25 % reduction on the current HB arrangement price. • Room reservations are confirmed on receipt of a deposit of € 250,-. We offer our guests a travel insurance that can cover any cancellation charges. We accept EC cards, Visa and Mastercard or Maestro Card. • For short stays of 1-4 days (arrival Wednesday/Thursday/Friday) we charge a short stay surcharge according to the season of between € 12,- and € 18,- per person and day. • Dogs are only permitted in the hotel with advance notice and only in the rooms and the Kaminhalle.
