Silver Medal Garden at Chelsea Flower Show
Introduction
The Xceptional Garden (shown above) at the 2000 RHS Chelsea Flower show brought Allison's
designs to the forefront of global horticulture. With the stunning Aqualens at its centre, the
garden was awarded a Silver Medal in Allison's first year at Chelsea.
Allison works with individuals, architects and designers to provide fountains and sculptures using
modern materials. From the original Aqualens concept, she has developed ideas into a range of
fountains and garden artwork for clients around the world.
Allison makes garden and public space sculptures using traditional and geometrically simple
shapes to create a peaceful and reflective combination of art and its surrounding space. Her
works have featured in art gallery exhibitions, TV shows and magazines around the world, and
is seen in hotels, hospitals, commercial showrooms, and private gardens both great and small.
While the standard sizes are listed throughout, all artworks shown may be customised to any
shape or size, using a variety of materials. There are very few limits to what is possible.
Standard Aqualens

Standard Aqualens
Garnering worldwide media acclaim and frequently imitated, the Aqualens is a perennial favourite that fits in a contemporary
or classical setting. A timeless design, its popularity continues year after year: The Aqualens can be found in many 5 Star
Hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants around the world. The Standard Aqualens is a 600mm diameter acrylic sphere set in
a 1500mm diameter stainless steel dish and is delivered with a pump as a self-contained fountain. The sphere and dish can
be made to a variety of sizes, and may also be supplied with an internal light.

Standard Aquasphere
Where it all began, the Standard Aquasphere comes in 1485mm wide, 2000mm high, square, black polycarbonate pool and
is supplied with a pump. The sphere and pool can be made to a variety of sizes, and the pool itself can be mounted on a
column.

Steel Eye
Elegant in its simplicity, this is made using two symmetric 2500m diameter “contact lens” dishes, and produces a range of
reflective and acoustic effects.

Obelisk
Obelisk featured in Allison’s original garden, and makes a striking feature in any setting. Obelisk is a
mirror-polished stainless steel sculpture, perfect to sit within or alongside a traditional flowerbed or border:
2000mm high on a 500mm square base.

Poles
This amazing mobile artwork is made of ten, 3000mm long stainless steel cylinders,
40mm diameter, suspended on a steel wire so that they rotate endlessly and
independently (they move even with no wind). Here they are suspended between two
strong trees conveniently 3.5 metres apart.

Double Cs
Two C-shaped semi-cylinders in thin stainless steel, 1800m high, 1500mm diameter, set on a 1600mm square stainless steel
base. They provide a variety of flexible reflective effects.

Mobiles
A clever sculpture of stainless steel triangles in a three-bar arrangement create a magical reflective
effect changing in the wind, hung here from a tree branch. A variety of shapes and sizes can be made.

Fire & Water
A mirror-polished stainless steel hemisphere, this was designed using the Yin Yang symbol as a starting point. One half is
flowing water, the other half is flames. It can be either desktop size using flame gel, or a larger sculpture run from gas. A
stunning piece; perfect for indoor or outdoor use.

TeePee
A sculpture made of intersecting stainless steel triangles, 2000mm high, set on a 1500mm square stainless steel base. It
reflects and enhances its garden surroundings, and is available with a triple jet internal fountain.

Garden Chaise
Using Perspex, this chaise is very comfortable and is suited for conservatory, indoor or outdoor use.
Mesa
This Mexican influenced pyramid fountain is made of square stainless steel plates. The fountain “tinkles”, enhancing
its reflective effect. Mesa can be 7-plate (in a 1000mm square pool) or 10-plate (in a 1200mm pool).

Steel Eye
Concentric Circles
Concentric Circles rotate 360 degrees and move in the
wind. They are best placed in a dark reflecting pool of
water. They can can be motorised, or supplied with jets
of fire.
