People Only
Summertime, and the swimming
is easy—and our kids swim
every day! The Friedenberg
Olympic-sized pool is kept
at an even 81o, has a full
deck, a large wading pool,
and a huge jacuzzi. Best of all,
American Red Cross certified
instructors provide swim lessons for
children 4 years to grade 3.
When it comes to the staff, no
other camp comes close to
Camp Jaycee. Our highly
qualified staff is trained in
group dynamics, creative
programming, first aid, and
more. Hands-on attention is
guaranteed as Camp Jaycee has
one of the best staff-to-camper
ratios in San Diego.
6. Judaica Specialists
9. We Are Accredited
Camp Jaycee is
fortunate to have
four Shlichim
(Ambassadors)
from Israel who
enrich each camp
by sharing Jewish
customs, dancing,
music, Hebrew, and more.
Every week concludes with a
camp-wide Shabbat celebration.
7. Safety First, and Always
Our staff is not only trained in
delivering fun, engaging, and
enriching activities to kids of
all ages; they’re also safety
experts! CPR trained life
guards and camp administrative staff, along with our
low staff-to-camper ratio,
ensure Camp Jaycee is enjoyable
and safe. Also, the JCC is located next door to the
Northern Division of the San Diego Police & Fire Dept.
Camp Jaycee earned a score
of 100% on the American
Camping Association
accreditation! The American
Camping Association
recognizes program quality
as well as health and safety.

Extended Care program.
Drop your camper(s) off

FROM THE DIRECTOR
When I think of camp, I recall all the fond memories that were made while I was a camper. I have been
attending Camp Jaycee for 33 years now—starting as a counselor back in 1981—and while every year
we keep adding to our menu of programs and activities, one thing stays the same - our ruach (spirit)!
The magic a child experiences and the friendships that are developed will last a lifetime. Camp
exposes us to new activities, new people, and to things we may never have tried before. In addition,
the self-confidence that builds in children greatly impacts their future endeavors. You will not find a
more dedicated or passionate group of leaders—with many of our staff starting as I did—as campers.
I believe the staff keep coming back for the same reason the campers keep coming back—there’s
nothing like the Camp Jaycee experience! Join us for an unforgettable summer!
Sandy Siperstein Rafner, Camp Jaycee Director
Note: Activities may change at the Directors’ discretion. Grades are determined by the academic year 2014–2015.

“The bus option is a huge service and a
selling point for the camp. It was very
helpful for our family logistically. The
bus service was very well run, and we
appreciated that a staff member went
ahead of the school bus to meet parents
when there were route changes. Victor
was excellent, friendly, and a highlight
of camp for our kids. He did a fantastic
job, and I wouldn't have expected anything of a bus driver to start with!
The bus provides good socialization
opportunities to our kids across age
groups. Thank goodness for the bus.
We live in Escondido, and we are so
grateful for the bus option so that our
children can experience Camp Jaycee.”

70 children and young adults were included in summer camp. It costs
$300 per week to support a camper with special needs and we need
your help.
