PRODUCTS CATALOGUE Introduction short notes COMPEL IN OPTICAL CONNECTING To start in 1995 activities at Compel Electronics Spa on optical connectors, adaptors and patchcords and making them grow up with related product manufacturing it was not so difficult thanks to company available know-how in designing and fabrication of electrical multipin connectors, coaxial connectors and cabling, as a result of efforts started in 1972. The same guidelines for a continuous innovation, design for high performances and reliability, Customer support with specific product design as applied in the electrical field were also easily transferred to optical product concept and development. Today all of the main connecting products are available and worldwide delivered by Compel as FC, SC, ST style components and last year MU and LC were also added in a continuous effort to maintain the Company leading edge position in the connecting arena. In many cases the Company relationship with the Customer evolves towards a real partnership as a convenient way for an effective answer to Customer needs and buffer / consignment stock approach is a well known and often applied procedure in fiber optic apparatus manufacturing chain. Technical and commercial agreements with high technology relevant companies for cooperation in new processes and products development in order to provide the Customer with latest available solutions are not unusual and often filed patents are also an important result of that cooperation in this field. For high volume manufacturing with latest machinery and tools, having in mind processes repeatibility and products cost , a second facility was activated in May 2001. Compel Group has now human, technical and commercial resources for a real Customer full service in optical connecting too, from new concepts and custom designs to a daily delivery of specific product to the Customer application site. 5 F.O.
