ous and illegal.
Driving
Do not use a hand-held telephone while driving a vehicle. Talking on the phone while
driving is dangerous and illegal in some countries. If using a hand-held phone, park the
vehicle before conversation. Remember - road safety always comes first.
If you must drive and use your digital wireless phone, purchase and install the HandsFree Kit accessory. For more information on the Hands-Free Kit, refer to pg 43.
Aircraft
Power your phone down prior to boarding an aircraft. Aviation laws prohibit the use of
mobile phones on aircraft. Using a wireless telephone in an aircraft may interfere with
aircraft radio communication or navigation equipment, and disrupt the wireless
telephone network.
Hospital and Medical
Power down your phone prior to entering hospitals, health care facilities, or when near
medical equipment. Operating any radio transmitting equipment, including digital
wireless phones, may interfere with RF-sensitive medical devices. Follow all posted
regulations while in hospitals and health care facilities regarding the use of your phone.
Emergency Calls
Your phone may not operate in areas of low signal. For this reason, you should never
solely rely on any mobile phone for emergency communication.
Blasting and Refueling Areas
Do not use your phone near a blasting site. Power your phone down when in any area
with a potentially explosive atmosphere. Radio transmissions in such areas could cause
an explosion or fire, resulting in bodily injury or even death. Obey all posted signs and
instructions regarding the use of wireless phone usage.
5
Interference
All mobile phones are subject to radio frequency interference that may affect the
performance of your phone. Your digital wireless phone is a low power radio transmitter
and receiver.
Phone Servicing
Only qualified service personnel are authorised to repair your digital wireless phone and
equipment. Use only approved accessories and batteries. Refer to “Phone Care and
Troubleshooting” section for more information.
6
Battery Installation and Charging
Your phone comes with a rechargeable external lithium-polymer battery. The battery is
partially charged when you buy the phone. This needs to be fully charged before first
use (approximately four hours).
Attaching the battery
1.
Line up the connectors on the bottom of the battery with those on the back of the
phone.
2.
Press the top of the battery into place, until it clicks.
Charging the battery
1.
Check that the arrow on the charging connector is facing towards the top of the
phone.
2.
Connect the charging connector to the bottom of the phone.
3.
Connect the charger into a standard wall outlet.
4.
When the phone is turned on while charging, the battery strength icon displayed
on the main LCD screen will animate.
5.
When the phone is fully charged, a “Charging completed” message will appear on
both the main and the sub LCD screens, the battery strength icon
will stop
moving, the LED will flash and a beep will sound.
6.
When the phone is off during charging, the main and the sub LCD screens will
display the message “Charging...Phone is Off”.
Note
You can make a call while charging the phone, but this will increase the amount
of time required to charge the battery.
Low battery indicators
Once the battery runs out, the phone will automatically switch off and any function in
progress will not be saved.
1.
When the battery is low and only a few minutes of talk time remain, the battery
sensor will let you know by blinking an empty battery icon
2.
You will then hear a warning tone and a warning message will be repeated at
regular intervals on the display.

Troubleshooting
Take care when using the phone
•
Keep your phone free from dirt, dust, and liquid.
•
Keep your phone dry - humidity and liquids may cause your phone to fail and will
corrode the internal circuits.
•
Keep your phone from getting too hot - high temperatures may damage the
battery, shorten the life of electronic components, and warp or melt certain
plastics.
•
Do not attempt to open or access the internal components of your phone. If your
phone is not functioning properly, take it to the nearest service centre.
•
Do not drop, shake, or handle your phone in a rough manner - it may damage
internal components or the LCD screen.

LIMITED WARRANTY
GTRAN Wireless provides this Limited Warranty for your mobile phone and original accessory
delivered with your mobile phone (hereinafter referred to as “Product”).
Should your Product need warranty service, please return it to the dealer from whom it was
purchased, or contact Advanced Portable Technologies (1994) Ltd.
OUR WARRANTY
Subject to the conditions of this Limited Warranty, GTRAN Wireless warrants this Product to be
free from defects in design, material, and workmanship at the time of its original purchase by a
consumer, and for a subsequent period of one (1) year.
WHAT WE WILL DO
If, during the warranty period, this Product fails to operate under normal use and service, due to
defects in design, materials, or workmanship, GTRAN Wireless authorised distributors or service
partners, in the country where you purchased the Product, will, at their option, either repair or
replace the Product in accordance with the terms and conditions stipulated herein.
GTRAN Wireless and/or its service partners reserve the right to charge a handling fee if a
returned Product is found not to be under warranty according to the conditions below.
CONDITIONS
1.
The warranty is valid only if the original proof of purchase issued to the original
purchaser by the dealer, specifying the date of purchase and serial number*, is
presented with the Product to be repaired or replaced. GTRAN Wireless reserves the
right to refuse warranty service if this information has been removed or changed after
the original purchase of the Product from the dealer.
2.
If GTRAN Wireless repairs or replaces the Product, the repaired or replaced Product
shall be warranted for the remaining time of the original warranty period or for ninety
(90) days from the date of repair, whichever is longer. Repair or replacement may
involve the use of functionally equivalent reconditioned units. Replaced parts or
components will become the property of GTRAN Wireless.
3.
This warranty does not cover any failure of the Product due to normal wear and tear, or
due to misuse, including but not limited to use in other than the normal and customary
manner, in accordance with the GTRAN Wireless instructions for use and maintenance
of the Product. Nor does this warranty cover any failure of the Product due to accident,
modification or adjustment, acts of God, or damage resulting from liquid.
4.
Since the cellular system on which the Product is to operate is provided by a carrier
independent from GTRAN Wireless, GTRAN Wireless will not be responsible for the
operation, availability, coverage, services, or range of that system.
5.
This warranty does not cover Product failures caused by installations, modifications, or
repair or opening of the product performed by non-GTRAN Wireless authorised
personnel.
6.
The warranty does not cover Product failures which have been caused by use of
accessories or other peripheral devices which are not GTRAN Wireless branded original
accessories intended for use with the Product.
7.
Tampering with any of the seals on the Product will void the warranty.

WITHOUT LIMITATION THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THIS

BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY NATURE
WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFITS OR COMMERCIAL
LOSS, TO THE FULL EXTENT THOSE DAMAGES CAN BE DISCLAIMED BY LAW.
Some countries/states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential
damages, or limitation of the duration of implied warranties, so the preceding limitations or
exclusions may not apply to you.
