Sublimation Artwork Requirements
Logos
Our customers send us all types of logos and artwork to use in custom sublimation design. Unfortunately not all formats are acceptable for digital sublimation printing. Most logos that are
pulled off websites or business cards etc are of a very low resolution meaning that they will not appear sharp and clear when printed.
For the best results on your custom clothing we prefer the following file types.
Adobe Illustrator - AI files
Encapsulated Post Script - .eps files
High resolution - over 300 dpi - .pdf files
These files are referred to as Vector format files. This means that they can be resized and manipulated without losing resolution on the file meaning that they will look sharp and clear on
your custom clothing.
Colours
PMS colours and CMYK colours can vary depending on the fabric used, inks used and method of printing. We use the latest Digital sublimation technology, with inks and fabric from the
industry leaders, however, colours from different manufacturers can appear different. If you are not 100% certain on the colours you have provided us we suggest you request a COLOUR
CHART SAMPLE - they are free. A colour chart sample will ensure you are 100% happy with the colour before production.
What is vector artwork?
Vector art is created in a vector-based software program like Adobe Illustrator or Coreldraw. It is based on points and lines created from mathematical equations and can be easily edited or
scaled with the click of a mouse. Vector artwork is typically found in files that end in .EPS or .AI. For example: my logo.eps or my logo.ai.
The pictures on the next page show the difference between a vector logo and a bitmap logo (.JPEG, .JPG, .GIF, etc.). When the vector logo is enlarged, it stays crisp and clean. When the
bitmap logo is enlarged, it becomes distorted. If you send us a .JPG logo and we enlarge it to fit on your uniform, it will become distorted.
How do I know if my logos are vector?
If the file you have ends in .JPG, .GIF .or BMP, it is definitely NOT vector artwork. If the file ends in .AI, .EPS or .PDF, it’s most likely vector. If you’re not sure if your logo is vector, email the
logo to your assigned sales person and they will be able to help you.
I don’t have vector logos. What do I do?
Contact your sales person and ask them to email you their vector logo. Most likely they have one on file, as vector logos are needed for all printing needs like business cards, brochures, etc.
IF you absolutely cannot get vector logos - let us know - we can possibly redraw them. (re draw rate is $50.00 per hour)
I have logos from a website. Will those work?
Website images are designed to load up quickly, which means they are low resolution and we can’t use them.
How about business cards? Can you use those?
Sorry, business card images are also low resolution and won’t work.
Artwork Requirements
Remember the old saying Garbage In, Garbage Out’.
To get a good quality print relies on good quality artwork and its resolution.
The higher the resolution the better the reproduction. We require a minimum resolution for artwork of 300dpi.
There are two types of images used in creating artwork, Raster and Vector. The best images for print reproduction are Vector. Vector file types include:
.ai - Adobe Illustrator,
.eps – Encapsulated PostScript,
.pdf – Portable Document Format
.svg – Scale able Vector Graphics.
We prefers to work with Vector Images as .ai, eps, .pdf or .svg.

.jpg – Joint Photographic Experts Group,
.gif – Graphics Interchange Format,
.png – Portable Network Graphics &
.tif – Tagged Image File Format

We can use these file types, however, they need to be converted to Vector Images for print production. This is a value added service that we provide to our customers. We pride ourselves on working
closely with our customers to minimize the cost of converting Raster Images to Vector Images.
We will not work with scanned or poor quality artwork, read only .pdf files or artwork in programs like Word or PowerPoint. We also reserve the right to refuse to print artwork that is offensive or
discriminatory in anyway.
Any artwork sent through to Black / Kanvas must be no larger than 7MB.
