Trauma healing for refugees from war-torn
areas is currently taking precedence over Bible
translation. The team has tested Genesis, but
needs to finish back translating it so consultant
can check it.

The Prefect Has a Need
Translation Coordinator Moussa agreed to help manage the local
trauma healing organization. He informs us, “The prefect of the
region asked me to help the local board of the Dialogue, Truth
and Reconciliation Commission (CDVR). They sought my help
to manage the staff doing interviews with victims of war.” The
current local CDVR president is sick. During his absence, the
CDVR staff must be well managed.
There were two reasons given for seeking the help of Moussa, a
Christian pastor in a heavily non-Christian area. First, he is well
known as a good manager of the men with whom he works.
Secondly, according to the prefect, the fact that Moussa translates
the Word of God into Worodougou is a proof of his interest in the
Worodougou region.
working with a female trauma victim. She was a young woman
who had been raped by 30 soldiers during the war. She was full of
bitterness and totally unable to forgive her torturers.
Moussa read her the story of Joseph in Worodougou. She wept
bitterly and was brought to her knees and asked Moussa to pray
for God to come and help her. This young woman sought strength
to forgive her torturers as Joseph forgave his brothers. She also
said she would make the effort to learn to read the Word of God
in Worodougou at Moussa’s home.

While Moussa was helping to manage human resources at the
Dialogue, Truth and Reconciliation Commission, the staff was

despite the urgent need for Your
servants to minister to their people
in other ways too. We ask that many
people will turn to Jesus to save
them.
Lord, we ask for completion of the
back translation of Genesis and
testing of John’s Gospel in Mahou.
May Your Word bring salvation and
build up Your people.

Father, give the team health, strength,
humility, faithfulness and joy. Provide
for their physical and spiritual needs.
Send forth Your Word in power,
bearing fruit to eternity.
