Joint Comfort è il nuovo
concetto di Livoni per una
migliore fruizione del comfort
e del design, elementi che
sempre più devono stare
insieme, per rispondere
alla vera missione di un
arredo contemporaneo:

funzionalità. Il progetto Joint
Comfort è una vera e propria
“unione confortevole” nata
dall’esperienza di oltre

The Joint Comfort project
is a true ‘union of comfort’
originating from over a century
of history, a natural leaning
towards design, qualitative
excellence of the raw materials
and the production. Tables,
chairs, stools, armchairs and
ornaments: once again the
details and shapes are joint.

Joint Comfort è in grado di
rispondere anche a questa
esigenza trasferendo nel
settore contract tutte le
caratteristiche della propria
produzione residenziale.
Ecco quindi che nascono
sedute, imbottite e non, tavoli
e complementi d’arredo
progettati e realizzati
appositamente per aree ad uso
intensivo. Il tutto riproponendo
il massimo del calore che ci si
aspetta di trovare fra le mura
domestiche.

Everyone has a wish: to live
each moment of their day in
comfort, even when they are
outside of their home. The Joint
Comfort project is able to fulfill
this wish by transferring all of
the characteristics of its home
manufacturing into the contract
sector. This is how chairs,
upholstered and otherwise,
tables and accessories
designed especially for
intensely used areas have
come into existence. All of this
with the warmth that you would
expect to enjoy at home.

Dal 1895, anno che segna la
nascita di Livoni, le nostre
creazioni sono totalmente
made in Italy. Dalla
progettazione alla produzione,

Calacatta oro e Statuario sono
due dei più pregiati marmi
Apuani. Entrambi presentano
un fondo bianco e venature
tenui, sfumate di colore giallo
dorato-bronzo per il primo e
grigio per il secondo. Faggio,

anche Ebano, essenze pregiate
che offrono una ricchezza
di colori e di sfumature che
fanno di ogni oggetto un pezzo
unico e irripetibile. Il tutto nel
rispetto delle leggi e della
natura, poiché il reperimento
del legname avviene solo da
segherie certificate. Le nostre
creazioni contemplano anche il
cuoio, la pelle, la foglia d’oro e

A material which is chosen and
then worked with the utmost
of care. This completes the
emotion of a Livoni table, chair
or accessorie. The materials
which we use also tell the story
of our company.
Calacatta oro and Statuario
are two of the finest Apuani
marbles. Both have a white
base and tenuous veining, a
slight golden yellow-bronze
shade for the first and a gray
tone for the latter.
Beech, Ash, Oak, Walnut and
exotic woods as Ebony, are
the elegant essences which
offer the richness of colors and
shades which make each object
unique and incomparable.
All this while respecting law
and nature, as the wood only
comes from certified mills.Our
creations also exploit leather,
skins, gold and silver leaf.

Il rapporto di collaborazione
con la Livoni è stato per me una
continua fonte di ispirazione
e di mi glioramento delle mie
conoscenze su di un mate riale
unico e insostituibile: il legno.
Alla Livoni infatti quasi tutte
le fasi di lavorazione vengono
eseguite all interno e ciò da
la possibilità ad un designer
non solo di vedere le proprie
idee pren dere forma, ma
anche di intervenire subito
per migliorarle recependo
le conoscenze di perso nale
altamente qualificato.
The working relationship
with Livoni has been a source
of continual inspiration and
improvement of knowledge
for me regarding a unique
and pre cious material: wood.
At Livoni nearly all the work
done is carried out internally
and this gives the designer
the possibility not only to see
his ideas take shape, but also
to intervene immediately to
improve them making use of
the highly qualified personnels
knowledge.
Il percorso evolutivo che
ha focalizzato, con estremo
interesse la mia attenzione
professionale di architetto
e designer verso la LIVONI
Edoardo & Figlio risale a
circa dieci anni fa quando ho
iniziato il mio primo rapporto
di collaborazione con questa
azienda, che ha un curriculum
storico ed industriale molto
importante e ricco di valori e di
tradizioni legate radicalmente
al bellissimo territorio Friulano
nel distretto del triangolo della
sedia. Dove ha saputo evolversi
e specializzarsi nel corso degli
anni proprio nella produzione
di sedie e tavoli realizzati
prevalentemente in legno di
ottima manifattura e di qualità,
dal target medio alto....
The evolution path that
has focused my extre mely
fascinated professional
attention as an ar chitect and
designer on Livoni Edoardo &
Figlio dates back to about 10
years ago when I started my
first working relationship with
this company. It had an almost
historical Curriculum Vitae as
well as a good industrial one,
rich in values and traditions
radically linked to the beautiful
Friulian Territory in the Chair
Triangle District. Here, it has
known how to evolve and
specialize over the years in
its production of chairs and
tables crea ted prevalently in
wood, both excellent in their
manufacture and quality, with
an average to high target
market...

e l’Italia per me è il paese
numero uno per il design.
Sono nato a Oslo (Norvegia)
il 17 gennaio 1948 e ho
studiato nella Scuola d’Arte
di Oslo (Statene Kunst &
Handverkskole) e preso il
diploma nel 1976.
Dopo 15 anni ho deciso di
trasferirmi in Italia come
designer di sedie e mobili
e collaboro con le maggiori
aziende della zona.
Sono in Italia da vent’anni e mi
sento onorato di lavorare in
questo paese.

The collaboration with
Livoni, which came about
quite by chance and most
spontaneously, has gradually
transformed and structured
itself into a solid working
relationship. It has become
an expression of a number
of ideas and technical
assessments which have
consequently melded into
innovative projects, free
from any pre established
style restraints, unique in the
personality of their shapes….
The virtuous attention to detail,
the quality of the materials
chosen, the commitment
to design and sustainable
production, rational, aware and
con siderate of the present day
environmental pro blems; all

Le strade che percorriamo
nel Design non sono mai
lineari e di questi cambi di
percorso, contaminazioni,
interruzioni e riprese sono fatti
i progetti. Idee come sogni, che
appassionano, per cui lottare,
perché sono le emozioni quelle

Davide Carlesi e Gian Luca
Tonelli sono nati negli anni
70 in Italia, facendo percorsi
diversi. Iniziano ad occuparsi
di design industriale alla fine
degli anni 90, partecipando
a mostre e a workshop con
pezzi realizzati da aziende
dalla grande esperienza
artigiana, questi primi lavori
portano una grande visibilità
in Italia ed all’estero con
articoli su importanti testate
giornalistiche del settore.
Il marchio area44, con il quale
si firmano, nasce da una
volontà comune di proporre
un design rigoroso, riflessivo
e appassionato, una ricerca
verso l’essenziale, dove
l’uomo resta sempre al centro
dell’attenzione.
Davide Carlesi and Gian Luca
Tonelli were bothborn in the
‘70s in Italy, but followed
different paths. Theybegan to
get involved in industrial design
at the end of the ‘90s, taking
part in fairs and workshops,
wherethey presented their
products made in collaboration
with companies with longstandingartisan experience.
This initial work gave them
great visibility in Italy
andabroad, with leading
magazines in the sector
publishing reviews of their
work. Their brand area44
springs from their shared
desire to offer rigorous,
rational and passionate design,
a pursuit of the essential,
where man is alwaysat the
centre of attention.
La collaborazione con
questa azienda del legno, ha
significato da sempre saper
ricercare e creare delle forme
che esaltassero il calore e la
bellezza dei materiali usati.
The collaboration with this
historic wood working factory,
has always meant knowing how
to come up with and create
shapes which exalt the warmth
beauty of the materials used.
1:1 Studio nasce nel 2001,
quando Beatrice Mascellani
e Alessio Bozzer decidono
di unificare la loro comune
ricerca progettuale di oggetti
reali, utili ed essenziali. La
tensione verso un’alta qualità
estetica e l’attenzione alle
realtà produttive derivano dalla
comune e proficua esperienza
dei due progettisti presso lo
studio milanese di Enzo Mari,
dove si incontrano nel 2000.
Design firm 1:1 Studio is
founded in 2001, when Beatrice
Mascellani and Alessio
Bozzer decide to unify their
common project research
for real, useful and essential
objects. Tension towards
aesthetic quality and interest
in productive realities come
from the common and long

progetto concreto per

collaborazione con
quest’azienda e le persone

prototipo in tempi strettissimi
per evolversi in un prodotto
vero e proprio, robusto,
elegante e funzionale.
Il “savoir-faire” di un’azienda
con una storia pluriennale, il
calore e il confort del legno,
la morbidezza e versatilità
dei tessuti e rivestimenti
fanno un ottimo connubio per
prodotti che si sottraggono ai

The working relationship
with Livoni was born from
a concrete project for a
hotel. The collaboration with
this factory and the people
who make it up has led to
the development of a first
prototype in a very short
time, that evolved into a real,
strong ,elegant and functional
product. The “savoir-faire“
of a factory with many years
of history, the warmth and
comfort of wood, the softness
and versatility of fabrics and
coverings make a perfect
combination for those products
that are fleeing to the
successions of fashion.

La sedia Stealth è l’ultimo
prodotto nato in casa Livoni.
Impilabile, dalle forme
essenziali e non intrusive, è
realizzata in legno di faggio ad
alta ricrescita, sfruttando le
capacità di corretta lavorazione
del legno delle maestranze
Livoni.

Livoni creation. Stackable,
essential and not intrusive in
its shape, it’s realized with
high regeneration beech-wood,
exploiting the Livoni masters’
skills about correct wood
processing.

Stealth è una seduta comoda,
impilabile, con spiccate
caratteristiche di praticità
e robustezza. I dettagli
evidenziano il trattamento
degli spigoli smussati, che
caratterizzano il design
dell’intera seduta, volto a
massimizzare sia tecnicamente
che visivamente il design
e la lavorazione del legno.
Altro particolare da notare è
l’andamento delle sezioni delle
gambe, svasate per permettere
una agevole impilabilità.
Nel progetto di Stealth
è stata posta particolare
cura nelle finiture: finitura
naturale spazzolata, finitura
a cera naturale e finitura a
olio. La sedia stealth viene
fornita inoltre in numerose
colorazioni.
Stealth is a comfortable chair,
stackable, with remarkable
features such as practicality
and strength. The details
reveal the blunt edges’
treatment, featuring the whole
product’s shape, in order to
maximize both technically and
aestethically the design and
the wood processing. An other
remarkable detail is the leg
section’s design, tapered for an
easy stackability.
A particular care has been
adopted within the finishing:
natural brushed finish, natural
wax finish, olied finish. The
Stealth chair is provided in
various colouring.

The upholstery can be chosen by the customer, who
can supply his own fabric. Customers who supply
their own fabrics or other material must considerthe
consistency of the fabric and the design and take into
avvount any inevitable waste, due to the difficulty af
matching the patterns or adapting the con-sistency
of the material. The quantity of fabric given for each
chair, armachiar or stool refers to cloths being
1,40 m wide.
