THE MERCHANT OF VENICE
URINETOWN THE MUSICAL
In the melting pot of Venice, trade is God.
With its ships plying the globe, the city opens
its arms to all, as long as they come prepared
to do business and there is profit to be made.
In a dystopian future, the Earth’s water supply
has depleted to such an extent that there’s a
government-enforced ban on private toilets.
Weeing is regulated by a single autocratic
company making huge profits by charging for
the privilege to pee. A hero from the people
must rise up and lead them to freedom…
RSC Live
With the gold flowing all is well, but when a
contract between Bassanio and Shylock is
broken, simmering racial tensions boil over.

EVERYMAN
ARTISAN
BAFTA winner and Academy Award® nominee
Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) takes the title
role in this dynamic new production of one of
English drama’s oldest plays, directed by the
National Theatre’s new Director Rufus Norris
(Broken, London Road). Recorded live
from London.
After appearing at festivals all over the world during
the ‘90s, Artisan officially disbanded in 2005 so
they could concentrate on individual ventures.
Now they are back and this gig is part of their
much anticipated 10 year reunion tour.

RSC Live
After more than a decade working in film and
television on projects from ‘Star Wars’ to
‘Holby City,’ Hugh Quarshie returns to the
RSC to play Shakespeare's Othello.
The greatest general of his age, Othello is a
fearsome warrior, loving husband and revered
defender of Venice against its enemies. But he
is also an outsider whose victories have created
enemies of his own, men driven by prejudice
and jealousy to destroy him. As they plot in the
shadows, Othello realises too late that the
greatest danger lies not in the hatred of others,
but his own fragile and destructive pride.
