Engineered For Performance
Engineered For Performance Thank you for purchasing the Forge Motorsport UNOS manual boost controller. We are highly confident that you will find this product to be superior in its quality, performance and user friendliness when compared to all other manual boost controllers available on the market today. Before installing this product, however, please be aware of your vehicle’s OEM boost control system and the routing of vacuum/pressure lines. These intricate details are specific to each application and will effect the installation, mounting location, and tuning of this product on your vehicle. Also bear in mind that this product is universal in nature, and as such, these fitting instructions are generalized to aid in ease of installation on multiple vehicle applications. Ref. 1 - This port on the UNOS manual boost controller is the inlet of the unit and needs to have a pressure source taken directly from the outlet of the turbo or from the intake manifold. We highly recommend and prefer that the source be taken from the outlet of the turbo or from the intercooler piping as close to the turbo outlet as possible, but the intake manifold can be used if no turbo outlet source is available on your application. _____________________________ *Production units may vary slightly in their appearance but the port locations and references will remain the same. Ref. 2 - This port on the UNOS manual boost controller is the outlet of the unit and is to have a pressure line connected to the pressure reference on the wastegate actuator of your turbo or external wastegate, depending upon whichever is used on your application. There are two springs included with the UNOS to allow for a wide range of adjustment, however, there are no guidelines as to which spring is best suited for a given boost pressure level on any given application. This will be based entirely on the base spring pressure of the wastegate actuator or external wastegate used on the application in question. If the softer spring installed in the UNOS does not provide the level of boost adjustment you are looking for, you will need to then use the stiffer spring in the unit to reach your desired level of adjustment. This will likely require some trial and error before you are able to reach your desired boost level. Please DO NOT install the UNOS manual boost controller in the opposite orientation or with the inlet and outlet ports connected to the opposite sources from those that are recommended above. Doing so will prevent the unit from operating properly and may eventually cause damage to the mechanical components of the engine or turbocharger if not installed in the correct way immediately. When changing the springs in the unit to a stiffer or softer spring based on the needs of your application, please be absolutely sure that the first and possibly the second spring coils are wrapped around and securely seated against the adjustment base/perch inside the unit itself. This is necessary for proper actuation and performance of the unit. Failure to properly seat the springs onto their base/perch may result in an inconsistent level of adjustment and boost response. Please see the pictures below illustrating proper installation of a spring onto its perch. As they’re small and easily misplaced, please put the spring that you’re not currently using somewhere safe that you’ll remember if you need it later. Replacements carry a charge of $3.00 each. If you have any specific questions or concerns about the installation or tuning of this product on your application, please contact your preferred Forge Motorsport authorized dealer, your vehicle’s tuner, or you may contact us directly.
