MISSION STATEMENT
To enrich the lives of young people in the Louisville
Metropolitan area by providing unique programs
and affordable facilities which promote character
development and positive life skills through the
game of golf.
HISTORY
The First Tee of Louisville, a Chapter of The First Tee,
an international youth development organization,
was founded in 2005. Each year we have reached
more young people in the Louisville Metropolitan
area, registering over 2200 participants in our eightweek sessions and reaching out to 3,000 elementary
and middle students in 20 schools during the
winter months. This year we are offering 41 eightweek sessions at the courses mentioned below and
opening a Program Affiliate in Brandenburg.

OPERATIONS
We are based at the Shawnee Golf Course, where we
have the AT&T Youth Course, a Three-Hole, Par Three
facility, the USGA Short-Game Practice Green and
Bunker, and other amenities for our programs. We
also offer programs at Seneca, Bobby Nichols and
Farnsley Golf Courses.

The Tournament is played in a four-person team,
Shamble format (all drive, pick the best drive, then
play own ball). Team and individual entries are
accepted. USGA and Tournament rules applied.

Seneca Golf Course has been rated
the sixth-toughest course in Kentucky
and was voted “Best of Louisville”
for several years running. This hilly
course rolls through beautiful Seneca
Park, with Beargrass Creek winding
its way among the numerous trees and
fairways converted from rye to zoysia
grass. Seneca has hosted numerous
national events, including the 1958
Derby City Open where Gary Player, who
holds the most titles of any golfer,
won his first American tournament.
