F ALLS R OAD PRIMARY S CHOOL Term 1, Issue 2 17 February 2016 C HALLENGE THE P RESENT— CREATE THE FUTURE FROM THE PRINCIPAL School Times 8.40am—3.00pm Tuesday early close 2.30pm Recess 10.25am-10.45am Lunch 12.30pm-1.15pm Dates to Remember Thursday 18 February • New Parents Morning Tea Wednesday 24 February • World of Maths incursion Friday 26 February • Assembly LSHS band Friday 4 March • Faction Swimming Carnival Monday 7 March • Labour Day Public Holiday Friday 11 March • Yr 6 Stirk Cricket Monday 14 March • 11.30am close 1/2 day interviews Dear Parents, STUDENT SAFETY We have maintained our strong numbers and have started the year with 285 students. This is only 2 less students than last year. These strong student numbers have led to more cars dropping off and collecting students around the school. I would urge all parents to be even more careful in checking for cars and students when parking and exiting the car parks around the school. Please also be aware that it is illegal to park on footpaths around the school and that Police and Shire Rangers will be monitoring this. The gravel car park on Connor Road is not a gazetted car park. Parents who use this area to drop off and collect students need to be even more vigilant. Using this car park in a one way in and out manner has proven to be the safest. Historically the entry has been the entrance nearest Burma Road and the exit being the furthest one from Burma Road. I would encourage parents to use this process. P&C The first P&C meeting on Monday night was very well attended. All positions were filled at the AGM and it was great to see the new faces at the meeting.
