Operation Manual
General Information
Thank you for purchasing iconBIT Omnicast HDMI streaming dongle.
Now you can take advantage of new technology that allows
broadcasting media from your mobile device or computer to big HDTV
screen.
Location
Your wireless connection will be stronger, the closer your smart device
is to Omnicast dongle.
Factors that can weaken signals simply by getting in the way of your
dongle’s radio waves are metal appliances or obstructions, and walls.
Product Features
The dongle complies with the Wi-Fi specification to communicate with
other Wi-Fi devices.

Wireless performance may vary depending on the networking
environment.
Connection
1. Connect the Omnicast dongle directly into
an HDMI port on your TV.
2. Turn your TV on and power up the
Omnicast dongle by connecting the USB
cable from the device to a USB port on your
TV or other USB power source that provides
at least 5V of power (not included).
3. Set your TV’s source/input selector to
the HDMI port, you used to connect the
Omnicast dongle in step 2.
4. Your Omnicast dongle should now start
up and display instructions on your TV
screen.
To start operation, find the section of the manual, corresponding to
your operating system: OS Android, iOS, OS Windows or Mac OS.

Operation on Android
Android users can get EZCast application for Android in Google Play or
using QR code on the main page of Omnicast dongle.
Then, enter Wi-Fi Settings to find SSID of Omnicast dongle and select
the EZCast-xxxxxxxx for connection, use the password, shown in the
upper part of user interface of Omnicast dongle.
Once you open Android EZCast, it automatically detects, if the
connection to Omnicast dongle is correct and if not, the disconnection
sign will show up.

When the connection is established, you will see six main modes on
your display: Photo, Office, Browser, Camera, Music and Video.
Photo Mode
Allows mirroring photos wirelessly from Android device to the TV screen
by clicking the thumbnails.
In addition, you can use the paint icon

to sketch the photo and use
to save the result.

Document Mode
You can mirror the documents from your Android device onto the TV
screen wirelessly. EZCast supports PDF, DOC, PPT, and XLS formats by
direct tapping the document name. The sketch function also available
for documents presentation.
Browser Mode
You can surf the internet and mirror the web pages onto the TV screen
wirelessly.

You can also fling the video to the display directly by tapping the video
in the browser.

Camera Mode
You can mirror the camera view onto the TV screen, change the quality
settings and switch between front and back cameras by tapping
.
Use
to take photo. You can use the sketch pen to add note onto
the result.

Music/Video Mode
You can stream your own music and video wirelessly to the TV screen.
You can select the music and video via your favorite video application
(e.g. YouTube).
DLNA
Omnicast dongle integrates DLNA DMR (Digital Media Reader) for DLNA
Application. You can turn on DMR by tapping “ON” on DLNA page of
EZCast. Tap
, the device will automatically search for all DLNA
related applications in your Android device and will show them as a
support list. To view the list of compatible applications, click «?».

EZMirror
EZMirror mirrors the data onto the TV screen. Omnicast dongle also
integrates Miracast functionality for smartphones and tablets,
supporting Miracast. After you turn EZMirror on, EZCast will directly
connect Omnicast dongle if your Android device is recognized.
Otherwise, Omnicast dongle will wait for EZMirror connection for 60
seconds. If there is no connection in 60 seconds, EZCast will set back
to normal Wi-Fi configuration: AP mode with SSID and password.
The TV screen will show how to connect EZMirror.

Settings
Using EZCast remote control, you can configure the resolution of
EZCast: 1920x1080 24P and 1280x720 60P (default). EZCast reboots
after changing the resolution. You can change password, choose type
of internet connection, change language settings and update EZCast as
well.
Updating
EZCast supports over-the-air updating. You can update your EZCast to
the latest version, clicking on “Upgrade”. Omnicast dongle will check
and compare the firmware version and update, if newer version exists.
Do not turn off during updating and make sure the internet connection
is stable.

Operation on iOS
iPhone/iPad users can get application EZCast for iOS in App Store or
using QR code on the main page of EZCast. Once you open iOS EZCast
App, it automatically detects if the connection to Omnicast is correct
and if not, the disconnection sign will show up.
Then, enter Wi-Fi Settings to find SSID of Omnicast dongle and select
the EZCast-xxxxxxxx for connection, use the password, shown in the
upper part of user interface.

Mode Selection
When the connection is established, you will see several modes on your
display (including but not limited to): Photo, Office, Browser, Camera,
Music and Video.

Photo Mode
You can mirror your photos from iOS device wirelessly to TV screen by
tapping
to select the thumbnails.
In addition, you can use the paint icon

Document Mode
You can broadcast the documents from your iOS device wirelessly onto
the TV screen. EZCast supports PDF, DOC, PPT, XLS, Pages, Numbers,
Keynote formats. Click directly the document name to broadcast the
document. The sketch function also works for document presentation.

Browser Mode

clicking the video at the site, such as YouTube. The sketch function is

EZ Air
EZAir is similar to DLNA, allows sharing multimedia from Mac and iOS
devices to TV screen.
Once you turn EZAir on, related iOS EZAir applications pop out for your
reference. You can use the supported EZAir application to mirror the
multimedia to the display.
Settings
Using EZCast remote control, you can change the resolution of EZCast:
1920x1080 24P and 1280x720 60P (default). EZCast reboots after
resolution is changed.
You can change password, choose type of internet connection, change
language and update EZCast as well. Keypad automatically launches
when the password is required.

shows the following: EZCast SSID: EZCast-xxxxxxxx, password:

After pressing "ON" on EZCast page, your Windows PC mirrors the
screen onto the TV screen.
EZCast supports several broadcasting modes:
Mirror mode directly mirrors the Windows desktop.
Extension mode provides second extended display aside the main
display.
Graphic mode is used to display still contents, such as PowerPoint
presentation and web browsing.

Video mode is used for dynamic contents, such as internet video
playing to obtain better frame rates.
Audio ON/OFF is used for turning on and off the audio transmission.
Windows EZCast provides Video/Music streaming to TV screen.

EZMirror

Operation under Mac OS
Mac

www.iezvu.com/download. After downloading, please execute EZcast
setup file and follow the installation process.
Install EZCast software on the drive Macintosh HD and press Next.

Continue installation.
Type name and password to allow this installation.
After EZCast installation, install Soundflower to transmit audio from
Mac to Omnicast dongle. Please follow the instructions.

You will be asked to restart your computer, please continue installation.
When installed, please restart your computer. After completing
installation process and rebooting, start EZCast. Go to Wi-Fi Settings to
find SSID of Omnicast dongle and select the EZCast-xxxxxxxx for
connection, use the password, shown in the upper part of user
interface of Omnicast dongle.

Enter the password, shown in the upper part of EZCast user interface.
Now you can mirror the data from your screen onto the TV screen.
Mode Selection

You can change password, choose type of internet connection, choose
language and update EZ cast as well. EZCast settings page acts as a
remote control. Keyboard is also functional.

Updating
EZCast application supports on-line updating, you can upgdate EZCast
to the latest version by selecting “Check for updates”, EZCast will
check and compare the software version and update, if newer version
exists.
Troubleshooting
If the sound doesn’t work properly, please select Internal Speakers and
Internal microphone in Output and Input as shown below.
