In the heart of a preserved landscape of cork oaks and olive trees, and in a region rich of centuries of History and Culture, we invite you to come and discover a small villa-­‐hotel of contemporary charm, immersed into nature. Access : -­‐  1 hour drive from Lisbon internaHonal airport -­‐  45 minutes drive from Spanish border -­‐  20 minutes from Évora ©Villa Extramuros 2011 2 Inspired by the tradiHonal design of laHn mansions and medieval convents, around a paHo, the contemporary architecture of the Villa Extramuros reflects the charm of the villages in Southern and Mediterranean Europe. Living spaces are hidden and protected from the outside in order to allow more privacy, but offer luminous views from the inside. The emblemaHc materials of Alentejo, marble and cork, were given a core place in the construcHon and decoraHon. Orange-­‐trees, a fountain, sheltered and panoramic terraces, enhance the aTracHveness of the building. The ground is of waxed concrete. The decoraHon – carried out by the Parisians owners – is widely composed of pieces of designers from the 1950’s to now ( from Jean Prouvé and CharloTe Perriand, to Marc Newson and KonstanHn Grcic, going through Pierre Paulin, Joe Colombo, Jasper Morrison for example). But it also mixes with remarkable pieces of local Alentejan handicrai (carpets, blankets, cork bowls, Hles, etc). And with the ones of young contemporary photographers such as Edgar MarHns or Adrià Goula. ©Villa Extramuros 2011 4 The Villa Extramuros welcomes you all year long. The breakfast is served personnally to your table or to your room, and its preparaHon is renewed every day. For the lunch, a short menu of snacks and salads is available. For the dinner, (served only with prior reservaHon), we would be pleased to serve specialHes of Alentejan, Mediterranean or French cuisines. Here too, cork, marble and waxed concrete are the base of a minimalist decoraHon, leaving the primacy to the outside landscape through the windows. All rooms are equipped with a large wardrobe, a minibar, a safe, and with air condiHoning, satellite TV, Ipod dock and Wi-­‐fi access. Superior rooms benefit from the most spectacular views over the castle or the countryside, from the largest terraces and from specific design furniture and dedicated aTenHons. ©Villa Extramuros 2011 6 The bathrooms are spacious, arranjed with rainshowers in Estemoz marble and heaHng floor. Natural lighHng from the roof and indirect lighHng with LED provide a smooth atmosphere. But you can anyway choose to pracHce many acHviHes : •  our infinite 15 m long swimming pool, perfect for swimmers, surrounded by a large terrace with sun-­‐beds among olive trees.
