Registration fees will not be accepted at class locations by instructors. Registration is conducted on a first-come, first-served basis. All fees must be paid at the time of registration. Registration fees and class days are subject to change. Office Hours: Monday - Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (closed holidays and Fridays). For information on classes, programs or holiday schedule, call 413.3280 or visit the Web site at www.moval.org. Registration fees for all programs and activities, including monthly classes, are due at least four working days PRIOR to the activity. Participants must bring a paid receipt to the first class. Classes that fail to meet the required minimum number of students within four working days prior to the scheduled start date may be canceled. Dates, times and locations of all recreation activities/ classes, etc., are subject to change without notice. For your convenience, online registration is now available at http://online.activecommunities.com/morenovalley. Mail-in registration must be received four days prior to the beginning of the program. Mail-in registration will not be accepted for programs with specific registration dates. Fees may be paid by check, cashier’s check, money order, Visa, MasterCard, or cash. There is a $2.00 resident and a $4.00 non-resident processing fee per transaction. A $25 non-refundable fee may be applied to all returned checks, even if registration is canceled. Unless otherwise indicated, registration is continuous. There is no prorating of fees. Program costs are as stated in this brochure. If you sign up for a class after the class has started, you must pay full price (unless the class offers “drop-in” rates) or you may wait until the following month to register. Lessons that are missed by the participant will not be made-up or credited. Lessons missed by the instructor or through scheduling conflicts by Moreno Valley Parks and Community Services will be made up as soon as possible. Fees paid for classes canceled by the Recreation Division will be returned in full. A request for transfer must be done in person at the Parks and Community Services office. Refunds must be requested in writing prior to the registration deadline. No refunds will be granted after the first class meeting. A 20% handling fee will be applied to ALL refunds or program transfers. Refunds take approximately one month to process. No person shall be subject to discrimination on the grounds of religion, race, color, sex, or national origin. Registration Form Some programs have specific registration dates. Please refer to class description for dates. The City of Moreno Valley may videotape or take photographs of various Parks and Community Services classes and programs. These videos and photographs are to be used to promote the programs to the community of Moreno Valley. The video will be edited and cablecast on MVTV-3 at the discretion of the City’s Media and Communications Division and the photographs will be used in various print media. SOARING Moreno Valley Recreation Guide Summer 2013 Youth Recreation A CHILD’S PLACE AFTER SCHOOL CHILD PROGRAM (LICENSED) Moreno Valley Parks and Community Services Department is accepting child care applications for “A Child’s Place” after school program at the following school sites: Armada, Creekside, Rainbow Ridge, and Sunnymead Elementary Schools. Child care services are available for children in kindergarten through twelve years old. Child care is provided from after school until 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Child care is also available during non-student days and during Thanksgiving, winter and spring breaks from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The program provides daily homework assistance, arts and crafts, nutritious snacks, and recreational activities for children after school. The fee for the program is free or at a reduced rate according to the family’s income and family size. Parents must either be working or attending school to qualify for services. ADVANCED JR. TENNIS (4 WEEKS) This clinic is for juniors with extensive experience or those who have successfully attained all three beginning junior tennis patches. The focus on this clinic is learning how to play matches and acquire advanced skills and strokes. Students need to supply a tennis racket. Students need to supply a tennis racquet. Active senior citizens age 50 and older who do not require special care or adult supervision are welcome to register. There is no membership fee. Group lessons are offered M-F for 45 minutes each day for 2 weeks at a time Level 2: at 10am, 11am, 12pm, 4pm, 5pm, and 6pm. 3-4 year olds Private and semi-private lessons are M-F for 2 weeks for 30 minutes each class (schedule Level 3: varies by pool).
