nine-parish region. Continuing to cultivate, invest in, and diversify the economy is critical to
the region’s ongoing competitiveness. BRAC investors make a commitment to the organization

sustained economic growth in 2014, giving regional businesses the opportunity to embrace

Finally, BRAC serves as the economic development arm of the East Baton Rouge
city-parish government. With this professional services contract, BRAC brought 489
new jobs to East Baton Rouge in 2014, representing almost $29 million in capital
investment, yielding a strong return on public investment.
In addition to these project wins, BRAC was credited for its role in assisting
Turner Industries with the opening of its state-of-the-art equipment repair
facility, located on the site of the company’s original founding,
commonly referred to as the Nichols or Mason Street Yard.
Under the direction of the International Development Committee, BRAC conducted three
international missions to attract foreign direct investment (FDI), resulting in one international
project win in 2014.
BRAC missions targeted Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
Recruitment efforts focused on target sectors, including chemical manufacturing and
new energy, the water management component of technical research and consulting,
