The Limitations of Asphalt as a pavement
preservation material

Asphalt is an excellent structural paving material

Asphalt is not a pavement preservation material

We can not preserve pavement with a material that is subject to the same problems that
destroy the pavement we are trying to preserve

Water & UV destroy asphalt

UV causes asphalt surface to crack

Crack wall erosion leads to potholes and base failure

Engine oil, diesel, gasoline and brake fluid, damage asphalt

Asphalt absorbs and retains heat

Price instability restricts usage



E-Krete is a mixture of a proprietary resin and cement powder

Mixture of 55 gallon of resin and 2800 lbs of cement powder would
cover 4000 sqf area.


Solar Reflectance (SR)

E-Krete is considered a cool pavement

E-Krete decreases Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect, improving human
and ecological health.

E-Krete Solar Reflectance is an IR reflector but a UV absorber.

E-Krete SR does not cause any glare issues for drivers or pilots.

E-Krete SR, Solar Reflectivity Index (SRI) values have been tested
and confirmed by NCAT, the US Army Corp of Engineers, third
party laboratories and Lawrence Berkeley national Laboratory.

E-Krete PCMO has a SRI calculated at 38 (NOTE: SRI value of 29 is
the LEED minimum requirement)
