Imitation
■ Appearance
The package of the imitation is precisely copied so it cannot be known as an imitation from the package.
The following are the differences found in the package of the imitation.
① The colors of the package are darkish comparing to the package for the real Turbo Timer.
② The diameter of the screw securing the indicator panel is larger than the real Turbo Timer. (The real one
has1.0mm Dia. hexagon screw, and the imitation has the 1.5mm Dia. screw.) The difference of the
screw’s size can be confirmed through the transparent part of the package.
③ The imitation’s serial number barcode cannot be read. (The imitation’s serial number is 8Z000433.)

■Inner Box
The shape of the inner box and packing condition are the same for both real and fake products.

The instruction manual and caution sheet included in the imitation are bent very roughly.
The attachment contents are the same for the real Timer and imitation. But, the plastic bag is different
from the real Timer’s.
The font of the Japanese instruction manual is different from the real Timer’s.

■ Connector
The paint on the wires of the imitation are obviously rough.
The serial number is not affixed to the imitation.
The imitation’s connector to the indicator is 7-pin; the real Timer’s pin is 4-pin
The imitation’s harness from the main unit has 1 extra brown wire comparing to the real Timer.
manual included in the imitation does not mention about this brown wire.

■Indicator
The imitation
The diameter of the upper holes on the front panel for the hexagon screws securing the front panel is
1.5mm instead of 1.0mm of the real Timer’s screw.
The outskirts of the front panel and the switch are processed roughly.
There is no serial number affixed to the back of the indicator.
The heat shrink tube is visible at the harness coming from the indicator. (The tube is not visible when the
unit is in the package.)
The connector to the indicator is 7-pin; the real Timer’s connector is 4-pin.

■Indication & Operation
The differences between the real Timer and imitation are shade of color, size of numbers or characters, etc.
(The imitation’s LCD segment and location are the same as the real Timer, but shade of color and size of
numbers or characters are obviously different.)
When viewing the indicator at angle of 30 degree, the imitation’s indicator is reddish so the numbers cannot
be ready easily.
The imitation has the functions shown in the diagram below; it does not have the Warning function and
Countdown customize function even though the instruction manual says these functions are available.

■Summary
It is very difficult to distinguish the imitation from the real Timer from appearance of the package. However,
the imitation unit itself is poorly made. The imitation can be easily aware by its poor paint on the control parts
and/or no serial number attached. Also, the brown wire of the harness may be the most obvious evidence of
the imitation. Also, the imitation’s functions are limited comparing to the functions explained in the instruction
manual.
