Partners for safe Tuning
Safe and responsible automobile tuning is the only way to achieve
the expected driving pleasure – this is the principle behind the successful TUNE IT! SAFE! initiative, which has been running in Germany since 2005. This road safety campaign is conducted under
the aegis of the German Ministry for Transport, Construction and
Urban Development and is sponsored by the Association of Automobile Tuners and numerous partners from industry, as well as
other organisations and institutions.
TUNE IT! SAFE! aims to raise public awareness so that safety does
not get forgotten when it comes to automobile tuning. This is important, because although there are many responsible companies

We are proud that the Dubai Police have picked up the TUNE
IT! SAFE! concept and intends to put it into practice. The initiative has been a huge success in Germany over the last 9 years
and has managed to establish itself as an information platform
for all things relating to tuning, sporty automobile accessories
and general traffic safety. The VDAT – the German Association
of the Tuning and specialty equipment industry – is the ideal
sponsor, while the German Minister for Transport, Construction and Urban Development is the perfect patron for the campaign.
TUNE IT! SAFE! is mainly aimed at young drivers and explains
the risks and dangers associated with poor quality tuning and
accessories both with regard to the drivers‘ own safety and the
general safety of other road users. The campaign focuses on
prevention and education. The VDAT wishes the Dubai Police
every success in the implementation of the TUNE IT! SAFE!
campaign.

also performs a valuable information function. The initiative is
symbolised by a fully tuned police vehicle that demonstrates the
safe tuning initiative in tangible form at numerous trade fairs and
events.
The TUNE IT! SAFE! concept has won many awards from expert
juries in Germany and is how to be picked up by the Dubai Police.
This has led tuning experts Brabus to provide the Dubai Police with
a tuned police vehicle for one year to spread the message.

First campaign vehicle in Dubai
gineers orchestrated the perfect coordination of all high-tech components
with new mapping for injection and ignition. The result is a perfect symbiosis of environmentally compatible exhaust emissions in line with current
EURO V standards, durability beyond reproach and outstanding power yield.
The production exhaust system is replaced by a free-flow metal catalyst
system that features downpipes with a diameter of 75 mm. The ideal complement to the engine tuning of the G 63 AMG is a BRABUS stainless-steel
sport exhaust system with controlled butterfly valve. At the push of a button
on the steering wheel drivers can choose between a quiet “Coming Home”
mode and enjoying an earthy, full-blooded V8 sound when the “Sport” position is selected.
Visually the BRABUS B63S - 700 WIDESTAR also stands out from the crowd:
the BRABUS designers developed a striking WIDESTAR widebody version
specifically for the G-Class. The powerfully sculpted fender flares add twelve
centimeters to the width of the G-Class body. Of course the fender flares
create space for extremely large BRABUS Monoblock R 23-inch forged
wheels that represent an ideal combination of lightweight design and maximum strength.
World premiere in Dubai
Exclusive BRABUS Power-Off-Roader for the Dubai Police
So much power turns work into twice the fun. In future, the Dubai Police
will have a 700 HP BRABUS 700 Widestar based on the Mercedes G 63
AMG at its disposal. Driving the first TUNE IT! SAFE! campaign vehicle outside Germany, the Dubai Police will be promoting safe, reliable automobile
tuning in the United Arab Emirates. The new, exclusive power off-roader
from renowned tuning experts BRABUS is more than just a show vehicle.
That’s because the Dubai Police is also to use the upgraded Mercedes GClass vehicle under the TUNE IT! SAFE! flag as a service vehicle that will see
duty on the streets of Dubai.
With a power output of 515 kW / 700 hp at 5,300 rpm the BRABUS 700 engine in the G 63 surpasses its original by 115 kW / 156 hp. Just as impressive is
the increase in peak torque to 960 Nm. That accelerates the all-wheel-drive
vehicle from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.9 seconds. Top speed is
electronically limited to 240 km/h (149 mph). At the heart of the BRABUS
700 engine conversion are the newly designed peripherals of the turbocharged eight-cylinder four-valve engine. While the intake and charge-air pipes
immediately catch the observer’s eye thanks to their BRABUS Gold Heat
Reflection sheathing, the other important details of the conversion remain
invisible from the outside. They include the two special BRABUS turbochargers with larger compressor unit, which generate a higher boost pressure
than the production turbos. Using state-of-the-art test rigs and test drives
on public roads and in terrain the BRABUS electronics specialists and en-

The new ABT R8 GTR

23. A new suspension module allows 30mm lowering the ride height of the
Range Rover. The STARTECH sport exhaust with controlled butterfly valve
can be perfectly integrated into the widebody design. The driver influences
the exhaust note with the gear selection wheel in the cockpit: in “Sport”
position in particular the powerful supercharged version of the Range Rover
delivers a thrilling sound. In transmission mode “D” with closed butterfly

This is made possible by the Bavarian company’s marvellous engineering skills. In conjunction with the developers in the ABT racing department, the engineers have seen to less weight and its ideal distribution.
The body parts do not only fit the design of the R8 GTR, the ABT Sportsline version also weighs 100 kg less. This can be put down to all its components being made of highquality, durable and extremely light carbon
fiber. Be it the front or rear spoiler, rear wing, hatch door or bonnet, it’s
